  • Moynihan plays its coy on legal tussles [View news story]
Well your right, and this chapter could well be entitled, "the fleecing of the American banks". Both political parties have participated and they both share the blame for this sorry state of affairs. When do they understand that the country needs a strong real estate market and a healthy banking system in order to prosper? We just need new leadership all the way around.

The problem is our government doesen't understand that you have to take you foot off the neck of the goose before it will lay golden eggs again.

This might be true, except when some of us tried to engage - they deleted our opinion. SA went along with this nonsense and as a result should be discredited as a reputable source. I do not feel that I can hold this website as an unbiased and fair place for commentary. I believe that their reputation ( along with Baron's, I might add) has been tarnished.

LRS your so right! Market people are typically short sighted and very forgetful. The government is the major culprit here not BAC. It is the government that caused the melt down and it will be the government that finally realizes that it must allow bank financing to be profitable if it expects mortgage interest loans to be approved at a level that creates a positive real estate market. BAC will be fine in the long run, but it will take the government some time...as it always does.

They would have been turned down and they know it. Why create more negativity than already exists?

You are right Chris. The government has had its foot on the neck of B of A since the crisis, and will not allow the company to raise it's dividends (which has the cash to do so quite easily). When the government finally decides that its really OK for big banks to be successful, in fact they must be able to do so for the US to truly get back on strong financial footing...then the foot will come off, and both price and divided will spring higher. Nothing to be serve by grousing over the lack of a dividend at this point.

  • Linn Energy Builds On Permian Base Despite Uncertainty [View article]
Yes, it seems like full steam ahead. Surely the dividend would have to be reconsidered if there were major concerns about the SEC. I think this is likely to end happily for LINE. Do you think the shorts have anymore powder in their muskets?

  • Linn Energy LLC declares $0.2416 dividend [View news story]
Well the way I see it there would be no reason to sell at this time. The short mongers, Barons, Hedgeeye et al have taken their best shot. The SEC has found nothing substantial but some paper pushing issues, and Berry is an enormous upside possibility. Why bail now?
