Why I Am Neutral About General Electric [View article]
This is pure silly business. GE is a core holding and one of the best reflections of the US economy. If you have faith in the US economy you will continue to hold and smile. If not try something else...but you will be hard pressed to find a better core holding than GE.

Yes, that was my first reaction as well. There is nothing wrong with voting with your feet, especially if your in the green. There are hundreds of other stocks you can buy and GE is not the only stock one should be holding...but it is a legacy holding of mine, so I would have to have more than this silly business to sell. It may very well split in time, but remember that GE started and maintains a financial arm for some reason.

Look, GE is a lumbering giant...it neither goes up or down very quickly...but it is a consistent reflection of our economy. As one of very few of my stocks marked as core...I will continue to hold and even add if it slips below a 6% portfolio position. These little yappers will continue to yap. It's OK.
There is really no reason that they can't do both a buy back and a div increase. Perhaps there still afraid of the FED that slapped them around when they tried to raise the div earlier?

Only thing I can think is that they feel that the company does not have any faith in itself. These dolts just don't understand that it is a smart company that realizes they don't have full control of oil/gas prices.
All The Love For GE Might Just Be A Fling [View article]
I am hoping for a pull back under $22.00. I really don't think I will see GE under $20 again in my lifetime. It makes a very strong core holding that will only pay increasing dividends in the long run.

Perhaps it should even be investigated. I wonder if anyone associated with Barron's bought on the dip knowing that they were piling on before a positive story?

I am considering here if I should make LINE a legacy holding. I have held this stock for several years and I am not disappointed at all. In fact, it is the best energy holding that I have ever held. If I were to consider it a long term holding then...I would commit to up to 7% of my portfolio to the holding.
I was wondering what major issue caused a minor correction...now I see that it's just more rats.
