American Capital: Surging NAV With More Upside Potential [View article]
I have owned and added ACAS to my portfolio for some time. My only question is should I confer the status of a "legacy" holding on this stock (one that I rarely sell).
AT&T: Fairly Valued, But Remains A Long Candidate [View article]
I was sort of kidding, but then I am a value investor. Actually, I have always been skeptical of all these telecom companies as there mostly smoke and mirrors...but I have done ok with T, I will just never make it a legacy stock holding and would stick to my rule of selling at 30% appreciation. Right now I am content to buy protective puts on the stock and sit on my money, being about 20% cash. So no I don't feel comfortable being fully invested either.
Bank Of America's Huge Near-Term Catalyst [View article]
You and me both...the signals are there and the yearly calendar is against a market rise. I am hoping for a 10% correction to see BAC go below $11 a share. I just wonder however...if too many people think this way, then we will be wrong.

The Seaway Pipeline Expansion Is Bullish For Suncor Energy [View article]
I have tried to diversify my energy holding and am a value investor. The three energy stocks that I am currently holding are SU, BP, and LINE. I believe that north American wants to and should become energy independent, so we can sell our oil and use our cheap natural gas for our own energy needs. I am just not sure that the politicians will ever get it together. Perhaps CPK would be a better choice for BP but is has not been as cheap and has seemed to have major head winds. I am not in anyway connected with oil companies just an interested old fart.

Well I am underwater in this stock but I am going to keep it. If they would sell off ML it would sure help. They ought to think about selling off the mortgage business too, although I realize they can't do that right now.
