Actually this could happen. But, I wonder even if they do that can they really spin off their liability for the situation?

  • Linn Energy: Can This Dividend Player Take The Heat? [View article]
So lets see...the shorts, Barron's, Hedgeeye all attack LINE with the intention of driving the share price down and preventing the Berry merger. Then several shark law firms step in and sue the company for destroying share holder value. The SEC investigates and comes up with some paper shuffling issues, but by in large leaves the company alone. After the dust settles and Berry is or is not approved, and the SEC issues its last words on the subject, I think a counter-suit by the company is not out of the question. It seems that it might be very possible to prove some malicious, self-interest behavior here. There is some reason to belive at the very least LINE might be able to recover it's legal expenses...and perhaps some punatives against those who have attacked. This amount could increase substantially if it can be proven that Berry shareholders were scared away because of the actions which made them think that LINE had been performing in an illegal manner. This whole legal mess could well end up breaking in a positive manner for the company.

No, they must keep their head down and stay quiet. Anything they say will be used by the hedge mongers and the legal sharks to try and discredit this company. If the Berry deal goes through things will improve dramatically.

I bought BP when it was beaten down as a value play. I still think this is true, but not as much. Still, unless you believe BP will be going bankrupt or that oil will no longer be needed in the world, this is probably a good stock to keep.

Base on my personal experience, I do not believe this. There has to be an interest based reason...if a reasonable person were to review my posts that were deemed "delete worthy" there just has to be another reason.

This kind of stuff has happened over and over. It happen to me as well. It really shows that SA is NOT a neutral disinterested party but has an agenda that we need to keep in mind when reading their stuff.

Great that you had the guts to print this. The Gov caused the meltdown not the banks.

  • Ponzi Or MLP? Linn Energy's Unsustainable Distributions [View article]
All stock picking involves a certain amount of risk. The reward for LINE could be immense...so worth a 3% gamble of the portfolio. What many of us object to is the obvious spin that James for whatever his reasons he has chosen. We have more than ample reasons to be suspicious.

Not just name calling, but I was frozen out whenever I tried to respond. I will never feel comfortable with SA again as it really seems like they were complicit.
