Dendreon: Provenge's Shortcomings Have the Shorts Coming [View article]
It amazes me that your article is so casually inaccurate. It is one thing to short DNDN 15071 shares with play money, it is entirely different using REAL money. If you wish to play around with biotech stocks you should at least try to understand a basic concept. ".....Dendreon Corporation is a biotechnology company that spends all its time trying to development and make a business out of therapeutics (a.k.a. chemicals)...". Dendreon is not developing "chemicals". Biologics are manufactured using living organisms and are far more complex than most small molecule chemical drugs. Dendritic cells are harvested from a patient in order to be used in creating a vaccine that stimulates the immune system to attack the cancer. That is why it is called immunotherapy.
ODAC Member Raises Concerns About Dendreon's Provenge [View article]
This stock/company should be trading on the potential science that underlies Provenge. Whether it trades up or down is not the issue. The blatant attempts to manipulate this stock downwards (irrespective of the science) are despicable if not criminal. A widely circulated report that is on Fidelity and disseminated by M2 PRESSWIRE via COMTEX has a clearly false statement regarding FDA approval of Provenge. The quote from the article that was posted as of 10:53am is: "Shares were down 4% as FDA denies drug approval." The FDA has NOT denied approval of Provenge. Investors tend to trade on seemingly substantial news such as this. This "report" has been posted all day. Is the market determining fair value of this stock or is it being massively manipulated??
