  • Herbalife: 5 Common Sense Arguments [View article]
I had a father in who was in sales and sold retail products his entire life.
    1. He worked for a well-known company.
    2.He had a territory.
3.Obviously the company had many other sales people.
    4. There were sales contests etc, but the sales people had TERRITORIES and the company was interested in selling the products they made to people who could use the products.
5.They were not interested in sellling my father 400 boxes of that product so that he could store it in what seems like a retail location, but is not, socking him with the burden of rent on a building, a lease, upkeep, utility bills and a string of rules that would blow your mind- so that he could peddle , not even the PRODUCT, but the oppurtunity to sell the chance to make alot of money to others who could then sell the chance to make alot of money, who could then sell the chance to make alot of money etc.
^.6. He did not irritate his family and friends with his career.
    7. He received a paycheck, a car, and an expense account.
    8. He invested no money of his own to speak of, received
a paycheck, and he retired with a pension.
It just is so simple for anyone to see what is really going on. The first red flag at as a guest at an oppurtunity meeting for Herbalife was when one of the leaders on stage who was making what sounded like a very lucrative income said that" the best thing that could have happened to Herbalife was the poor economy, and the fact that so many folks were out of work" Really, because poor folks without jobs but weight loss shakes and vitamins? I looked at her beautiful clothes etc. and then looked around the room and wondered how many of these people in the audience were just desperate folks without decent, stable jobs. Many of them looked as though they were just struggling people, desperate for a chance, any chance. Maybe they'd even take the last of their credit card balances and give it a shot. Who wants to be a "loser" especially when it's such "an amazing oppurtunity". And you don't want to question too much- after all, who wants to be a " dream- killer?
It's sad what happens. For every Herbalife leader making a great living, there are hundreds who are sold a chance that doesn't exist for them. The cannot financially compete with those in a position to put themselves at the top of the Herbalife food chain. Why can educated people not see this? It's perplexing.
Just the observation of someone who works for a living.

  • Herbalife Responds to Misleading and Inaccurate Information [View article]
If Herbalife- such a huge company, is not practicing deception, then why are so many people hurt by it? Why have so many who got involved, people with no business savvy, no experience and on the lower end socio- economically? I am sure that what Herbalife is being accused of is true... I have seen the people, the real people that are hurt, and have lost thousands, when they couldn't afford to lose $100.00. They drive themselves, or load up vans, leave their families to travel out of state to those ridiculous "pep rallies" every two weeks. meeting fees, hotels, meals. These are regular folks. They take the grocery money, credit cards, whatever to prove to a bunch of leaches that they are "serious" and to "rub shoulders with millionaires" They didn't just buy in just for a discount:They bought the speeal that they would be rich. Why doesn't everyone jump at the chance to sell and consume Herbalife? Why don't they compete for the chance to sell these superb products? Why aren't the products in every home in the United States, as popular as Coca Cola? It's been thirty years. We should all be rich and skinny. Oh, I know- We are all just naive. And the worst of it is these clubs that Herbalife won't open. It's too expensive. So they get poor, innocent folks to do it. How much is the RENT, utilities to open a buisness? What about the thousands of dollars in products, phamplets, junk like " work from home flyers to hang all over town. What happens to these victims when the money runs out.? You'll be working from home allright. I don't know Ackman's motives and I don't care. More power to him.

  • Ackman Was Too Kind In His Attack On Herbalife [View article]
How many lives have been torn apart by these schemes? I have seen it myself first- hand. I have watched while an relative took all retirement money that had been set aside, pay a crazy amount of money for a lease to have a "club" leave her child time after time for
"meetings" she cannot afford the gasoline to drive to -in surroundings states. Everyone is in competition at these club- not to sell retail, but to RECRUIT. Much of the time, the "club"is empty. I am watching his life fall apart in front of my eyes-not because he hasn't tried and tried and used creative and innovative ways to try and succeed by the company's guidance and rules, but because it is a scam of the highest order. But the scariest part is that unqualified , naive folks are giving others with health problems advise about products like nitric- oxide. And what are they going to do when their are diere consequences for that advise. Search the internet under " ruined lives- herbal life". You will find heart- breaking stories from folks who were promised the " that anyone can do this" and were robbed.
