$RVM abruptly back to where it was in July. Happily, I have a bunch of new $NOK money that I didn't have in July.... Will be using some now.

    • DumpsterDiver: This was the largest single-day drop (in dollar terms) I've ever experienced. Good day to be an adrenaline addict, I guess....

    • Maverick Trader: So it sounds like you are just a little excited
      10/16/13
    • TheMasterPlan: Haha, DD that's a positive way to look at it.

    • DumpsterDiver: My plans wrt RVM are denominated in years, so the longer it stays this cheap or cheaper, the more of it I can own, basically. :)

    • DumpsterDiver: The immediate value of the company has certainly dropped with this news (another year+ of cash burn w/o offsetting revenues), but...
      10/16/13
    • DumpsterDiver: ...the value of their underlying resources hasn't changed nearly as much. As a long-term guy in a short-term world, that works okay for me.

    • DumpsterDiver: MT, I'd be more excited if it held its new low or surpassed it. Price is already back up to higher than what I paid last time around.... :(

    • Maverick Trader: I agree but every time it has touched the .60 level, is has bounced off and that is somewhat encouraging. Great op if fell below .60

    • Maverick Trader: Also got $AUMN on the radar. It's still in an overall downtrend but could be approaching a good entry point.

    • TheMasterPlan: "I'd be more excited if it held its new low or surpassed it." Not often you hear that, but sometimes it's the truth. :)
      10/16/13
    • DumpsterDiver: Been getting progressively deeper into $AUMN since February. That was way too soon, but I almost always start buying way too soon, it seems.

    • DumpsterDiver: Also been buying $ABX, $MDW, $NSU, $RIC, and $XRA (whew), just so I can say I'm throwing my money down A LOT of holes in the ground.... :)

    • DumpsterDiver: Never particularly cared about mining before this year, but one must shop where the cheap is...and that's one of the few places where it is.
      10/16/13
    • SeekingFameandFortune: Should have kept it in NOK as it's still climbing.
      10/16/13
    • DumpsterDiver: NOK is still my largest holding as of today, even after selling 2/3 of what I had. Don't see enough upside potential to justify owning more.
      10/16/13
    • DumpsterDiver: To put it more precisely, I do see the potential, but I don't see any good means of assessing its probability as of yet. Hence, risk = ??

    • TheMasterPlan: DD, I see $VALE as a long term mining play, particularly right now.
      10/16/13
    • TheMasterPlan: Might take some time (a few months) to realize gains, but it does pay a decent divi, so at least you'll get paid to wait.
      10/16/13
    • DumpsterDiver: Thank you, VALE is interesting (albeit a little debt-heavy for my tastes). Bit pricey right now, but nothing a good crash wouldn't cure. :)
      10/17/13
    • DumpsterDiver: Going to sniff around in more depth and add it to the watchlist at the very least. Much obliged; I had never heard of them before.
      10/17/13
    • DumpsterDiver: As for hoping one of my major holdings will hit new lows, I used to wish that on NOK constantly, too. Stingy bastards love low prices....
      10/17/13
    • DumpsterDiver: If the market were to give up hope sufficiently on RVM, I could double the size of my current holding. Which I would love to do, if able to.
