  • Will Verizon Shares Also Benefit From Its Joint Venture With Coinstar? [View article]
Gas and time costs on travel to redbox, risk of car and medical liabilities, I am actually in the red going to the box. Don't forget, they don't always have the movie.
    Long Verizon.

  • Is Southern Copper Still A Good Long-Term Dividend Play? [View article]
I hear a lot of chatter about sell, selling, sold. I think one speculation you need to look at is the owners, 80% insider ownership. I believe they have their own interest in mind with all decisions. If the dividend cut and stock distribution was terminal, they have the most to lose. I am long term, 10-15 years. I will wait it out. Long scco for 5 years so far.

  • If Apple Is Lebron James, Then Microsoft Is Kevin Durant [View article]
Maybe Apple will have a much publicized 'decision' and announce they are moving to China, instead of paying dividends.

  • With a wholesale ASP of ~$650, the iPhone is much more expensive than the average Android phone before subsidies kick in. That's proving to be a problem in markets where subsidies don't exist, or where consumers prefer to buy phones prepaid rather than agree to expensive contracts. In crisis-hit Greece and Portugal, for example, Apple's (AAPL) smartphone share remains below 10%, leaving Android (GOOG) to dominate the market. (also)  [View news story]
Who cares if the welfare state of Greece can't afford an i-phone? I don't. Sell to the other billion people that actually work for a living. Better yet, the IMF can create a, 'Donate to the poor Greek i-phone fund'. USA is on it's way to being a welfare state. It is difficult living in a country that I feel is loosing credibility and respect.

I look forward to my 1 time special dividend from apple before the tax the rich 'Comrade Obama' signs his tax laws!!!

I think I get it, UNG is not a buy. I would'nt anyway, because I don't invest in futures. But the knowledge I get from the comments is immense. Thank you all for your insightful comments!

  • Retailers in some Chinese cities have been ordered to halt sales of iPads (AAPL), according to media reports. The move follows a lawsuit in which Proview claims it's owned the name for over a decade. Another report has iPads being confiscated from retailers in Shijiazhuang. Apple quivers, +1.8% and over $500/share.  [View news story]
Isn't funny the country that steals tech, stops the sales of the biggest product in history of tech, because of the 'name', rights. LOL

I feel stupid. I read all this technical stuff. I am just a simple guy. I bought aapl, in 1999, 2004, 2007 and 2009. Never sold once in my IRA. Not a millionare. But not poor, at least in my IRA.

  • Oil And Gas: A Trend That May Pull Down Pipeline Stocks, MLPs And ETFs/ETNs [View article]
As always there will some exceptions to the theory. 'Long haul gas MLP', should be the real concern and the headline. Local pipeline MLP, such as CHKM, is performing well, http://bit.ly/wqwCZg , note the 'related companies' chart. I was going to dump my position until I reviewed it and compared. I am also in the long term camp. Long CHKM.
