Exactly. You can't answer that contracts to suppliers are never made public. It's a fact you can't get around.

Perhaps you needn't concern yourself with my business. How about you focus on not making personal attacks, if you can do that. Ad hominem seems to be your style, so I'm not holding my breath on that happening.

Rich, I'd throw your post back in your face in a month if I thought you'd still be using this alias then. But this is a new one, and by then you'll be on to a new alias so people can't make you eat your words.

Patent, you're understanding of the tech sector is deafeningly horrendous.

Consider that not even analysts have been aware of who Apple's suppliers are.

""Apple has disclosed a list of its suppliers for the iPhone, iPad and other popular gadgets for the first time amid growing criticism over labor and environmental practices, especially in China.

The list for years has been strictly and fervently protected. Even a glimpse of an Apple iPhone or its components before a public release became a source of intrigue and controversy. Investors have played a guessing game about which contractors would become Apple's next supplier, or who was on the outs.""

Come back and write something when you have enough understanding to talk about this subject without embarrassing yourself silly.

Here's another difference between UNXL and ATML.

ATML has 43 times as many shares outstanding. That means that UNXL's Friday close is equal to 0.63 in ATML shares. That's 63 cents. Maybe it's ATML that's overpriced.

  • UniPixel (UNXL -26%) crashed today in the absence of major news. Williams Financial's Cody Acree, who rates shares a Buy: "There were a lot of speculative things today, a lot of which probably got blown out of proportion." Among other things, Acree notes a recent Apple patent application for a large-display touch sensor panel (not a competitive threat), and the fact a 13G filed by Goldberg Capital notes the firm's stake in UniPixel has fallen to 5.25% (Acree says this is only due to dilution from the stock offering). Shares still +99% YTD. [View news story]
Jake, calling it a scam is to completely ignore all the evidence to the contrary. The Acree quote is much more accurate. Friday showed that retail investor confidence is shaky, and the herd quickly follows the trend, especially since the stock has attracted the attention of momentum investors ever since it was at $15. Until news tells us that the story is broken, the story is intact and time will tell us if this co. is a contender or a pretender. Until then, place your bets.

You might be right. After all, Intel is known for pushing scam companies onto its ecosystem partners. Why didn't I see this before?

The price that you're quoting for ITO is at the phone form size. That price goes up exponentially at larger form factors such as notebooks/Ultrabooks. Apple to apples, please.

    That's exactly right, Phil.

Mr. Acree summed it up nicely for Barrons and for everyone. I think that until some news comes out that the story has changed, UNXL is still a great speculative play in a dynamically growing tech space.

I agree with you mostly, giosef. Longs autofed the decline. I was one of them.

I learned my lesson the hard way from a little company called Global Crossing never to be a bag holder. So now I always keep a tight stop in place. I'd rather be sorry for a little missed gains. In the long run, the name of the game is to stay alive to play another day. So I pocketed my 100% gains since January and will look for another entry point after the dust is settled.

Is that what you think, SMD? then you should take a look at the intraday chart against the daily chart.

    http://bit.ly/12HMzVj

The stock found intraday support just north of the 50 dma near $31, then fell through that at level only to bounce back up to the 50 dma at $31, but that became resistance and the stock fell after failing to get past that moving average. That didn't mean "very little" to people trading off of that. It meant money, especially for the day traders.

Today pointed out the major risk for UNXL shareholders -- miniscule effective float. Tiny float creates a lot of volatility so you have to be in at a good price or you can get under water fast.

    - The major story on UNXL is still intact until it is not intact.

    - Being smaller makes UNXL more nimble than ATML.

    - ATML is being dragged down by its low performing divisions so their results can't be blamed on the touch sector.

    - R&D isn't a factor because that work is already done, the tech is already there and working.

M'cat, think what you're trying to say is to not ignore the downside when using TA. The problem with the TA in this article we're commenting in, is there was no mention of where to look for possible reversals. No mention of key support areas or pivot points. With TA you have to be aware of what the worst case scenario is, which means noting where key intraday and daily pivot points are. I do that every night.

While I agree with you that reversing today's action could require heavy lifting, positive news could be the forklift that eases that lifting for longs. Until the story itself is broken, the story remains intact, and despite today, the stock could still be at $100 by January next.

Of course the longs are selling. This was a long liquidation day. We may learn that a 'tute lightened up when reports come out in a month or two, because this wasn't simply retail longs liquidating. The early massive volume told me it was at least one institutional holder. When there wasn't any bids showing up at $33 to support the thing, retailers let go either through stops or panic attacks. This is why I only use TA. Support was drawn at $33 over the past month, and when that failed all hell broke loose.
