  • Can RetailMeNot Survive Its Q2 Results? [View article]
"During its Q2 results, RetailMeNot reported $0.08 earnings per share, missing analysts' consensus estimate of $0.17 by $0.09."

    WRONG, WRONG, WRONG!

Why do you keep perpetuating the lie that SALE missed analysts' consensus estimate? Your $0.17 figure is a non-GAAP EPS number and you are comparing it against a GAAP figure of $0.08. Please correct your flagrant mistake! SALE beat on both GAAP and non-GAAP EPS.

  • RetailMeNot: Goldman Sachs Says EPS Beat Consensus -- Jefferies Maintains Buy Rating [View article]
What's curious to me is even with the corrections in earnings coming out that the stock is down even further today. I guess yesterday's margin calls are still being felt today. With the corrected EPS numbers out, who else would be selling? The shorts have to believe with GS's 75% upside call that there is not much downside left in this company.

SALE may be a "sell" but it certainly is not a "strong" sell at sub $18.00. I would also be very cautious shorting at $18; too many shares shorted now.

I believe Goalmansux agrees with you, hence they raised their target price to $44. Good indicator to sell when Goalmansux says buy.

  • Alpha Natural Resources Can Most Likely Survive, But Can It Thrive? [View article]
All good points Stephen. Also, when our natural gas begins moving overseas I believe we'll see an increase in the price of natural gas. That by itself may cause a move back to the use of thermal coal. ANR appears to be a good play at just over $3.

  • Update: First Majestic Silver Reports 18% Silver Equivalent Production Growth, Higher Grades And Recovery Rates [View article]
Whoever sold $1.4 billion of gold futures at market open today certainly had something in mind beyond maximizing his selling price. It worked magnificently to bring down the whole mining industry, save a couple like AUMN.

AG is one of the best managed silver companies I know of. $10.25 is cheap in my book, so I picked up another 2,000 shares today!

  • Cal Dive International: Turnaround Or Resource Conversion Likely [View article]
Your analysis is good and the point wasn't missed. I have a small stake in DVR (1,500 shares @ $2.00) and believe the most likely scenario is a turnaround.

"(Editors' Note: This article covers a stock trading at less than $1 per share and/or with less than a $100 million market cap. Please be aware of the risks associated with these stocks.)"

Editor has this wrong. Stock is trading at $1.74 x 97,500,000 shares. It is neither less than $1 per share nor less than $100 million market cap. Please delete this note.

  • Cal Dive International: Turnaround Or Resource Conversion Likely [View article]
"A patient investor could put some risk capital to work at the current stock price and look for the turnaround to ensure a decent return-eliminating the discount to book value would be a 33% gain."

If the stock is currently trading at two thirds of book value and it returns to book value, that is a 50% gain, not a 33% gain (1/3 divided by 2/3).

  • Dealing With Loss (The Monetary Kind) [View article]
CTL may be good, but I do not like dealing with the company. Their customer "no-service" department is bad and their products are inferior to what I was able to get from Time-Warner Cable. Because I don't like their products, I will never touch their stock. But I like LNCO a lot!
