  • Flawless Execution Could Propel Intel Stock Higher [View article]
    raghun,
Mullins will be another underwhelming and/or dead on arrival product from AMD.

In whatever niche situations where Mullins performs better than BayTrail, Mullins' underwhelming energy efficiency, rules it out from competing against BayTrail.

Later on this year when CherryTrail is released, not only will there not even be a niche for Mullins to hide in, the performance/watt deficit that Mullins already experiences will become dramatically worse again.

    Ivousa,
Don't sell yourself short, you should write an article on Intel.

I believe you will be able to provide the sort of insight that one can normally find only in Kofi Boofah & Tom Luongo articles.

    Stephen,

ARM doesn't have Magic Pixie dust properties, so just because AMD is going to provide ARM chips doesn't mean squat.

AMD's first ARM offering will be totally underwhelming, lacking the much vaunted "Freedom Fabric".

Just because you go around making increasingly strident Pro AMD statements, doesn't mean this actually guarantees anything for AMD or increases their prospects.

Please let some realism seep into your thought processes here.

If Intel didn't have to fight off ARM, then AMD probably would be a good around play, but instead they are going to be collateral damage and roadkill, as Intel innovates at a faster pace then they would have, if they only had to worry about AMD.

In a few years time when people look back, they will realise that they were blindsided by AMD's Console wins(which ultimately won't save them), their own wish fulfillment fantasies and naively believing AMD PR.

You lot would be better off spending more time listening to the great wisdom that Ashraf has been providing to you at no charge.

    enihcam,
Lenovo will want to sell servers now that they have purchased IBM's server business and most of their clients will clearly prefer Intel over AMD right now.

Ashraf writes heaps of articles, so it is not like he is concentrating on AMD in particular.

And your suggestion that people should only write about companies they see as sure fire winners is just silly.

Investors want to know as much as they can about a company, not just PR fluff from defacto AMD Marketing People.

Great article, completely agree with every point you have raised about AMD's difficulties ahead, which AMD Bulls just refuse to see and acknowledge(so it's gonna get them).

However on a slight quibble, you forgot to mention the awesomeness that is HSA. ;)

  • AMD: Remember This Rumor? [View article]
Here Ivy Bridge is benchmarked against the FX-8350.

Now considering Haswell has since come out, then Intel's margin increases even further.

BTW, In this review, they test playing Skyrim whilst also video encoding at the same time.

Your fairy tale about how the FX-8350 would triumph in such a situation is exposed for the falsehood it is.

    LOL Passmark & CPUMark.

AMD continues to lose desktop marketshare because they simply lack attractive products for this space.

Barantos is making up fairy tales.

Not that I particularly regard Tom's Hardware as some authoritative source, but considering he mentioned them, then they don't recommend any AMD processors above $125 for gaming.

Where has this been shown, other than on fake benchmarking done on YouTube by AMD fans or AMD employees?
