  • Baidu: Why The Current Quarter Will Surprise [View article]
Options trade similarly to stocks in that they have a bid and ask price that is set by the market makers. I would suggest that you find a good option service online that you can learn more about options before you start trading them. From personal experience Shaeffers Investments is pretty good, but you may want to find your own. Options can be very complicated, so I would advise that you get a little more educated on them before you act. The online option tutorials can be very beneficial to you.

The easy way to do it would be to just sell the call option. Depending on how much time value would be left. Since it would be in the money by $20.00, the contract would be worth the $20.00 + whatever time value is left. Most likely would be higher than the $20.00 you would get for exercising the option & trying to sell the stock. I would not exercise the option, I would just take the profit and roll it forward to another month and higher strike, instead of buying the stock. You do what you feel comfortable with, this is only what I would do for your FYI. Hope it helps.

  • Is Tech Really Underperforming? [View article]
It doesn't matter who the spokesman is. As I explained in an earlier post, all that matters right now is that the strong hands are getting in, and the weaker hands are all but out. The markets will stay irrational, they always do. Dips should be bought. The financials keep moving higher, that is what needs to be watched. If they falter than the rally falters. The funny thing is that this is not the first time that someone has used the pie-in-the-sky comment towards my opinion. The last time was back in September when I was buying RIMM @ 6.5 looking for 13, FB @17.9 looking for 30, and NFLX @ 57 looking for a test of 100. Needless to say they speak for themselves. By the way, I welcome a difference of opinion, that is what makes the market work, buyers & sellers.

  • Is Tech Really Underperforming? [View article]
Nasdaq is being held back by AAPL, its nice to see the correlation come back between the 2. AAPL continues its upside quickly re taking the 500 level within days, not weeks. Along side the S & P 500 gets to new all time highs and the QQQ break up to test last years highs. The Nasdaq will outperform the Dow and The S & P 500 soon. Thats when we all will be discussing what level for AAPL & the QQQ's is too high. This $13 pullback after a $42 point run in a couple of days, needs a small correction to get out all the investors that are still looking to sell there positions on any rally. This is what they are taught to do. Don't panic out. Wait for a rally to get out of your positions. The markets don't go to all time highs without the most successful company in the world. Its only a matter of time before AAPL retakes the lead again, and most important part of all of this happening is that the majority of the market is not expecting this outcome.

Someone has been throwing up 10k share blocks to buy for the past hour or so between 95.9 and 96.05. Seems like its getting close to breaking the week long down trend.

FBRC who is Freedman Billings Ramsey is also active on the bid, along with the cboe. usually means there is some options market makers positioning for a move against the trend.

market maker TMBR was very active in shorting BIDU, now they are getting active on the buy side, most likely covering shorts. stock is way oversold and looking like a coiled spring ready to let go. Still a lot of open puts overhead @ 100 & 105, any rally should look to test these holders and possibly draw to the 110 calls with good open interest.

  • Will Einhorn And The iWatch Boost Apple Shares? [View article]
This rally can be contributed to Greenlight, Iwatch, the cheaper Iphone, growth of iphone in India, etc. You can use whatever excuses you want, but the facts are that this sort of thing happens everyday to different stocks. It is a pattern that happens to every company. Their stock goes up and it goes down, that is the nature of the market. The reason that AAPL is on a nice rally, and will go a lot further, is because the fear that was driving it lower has now subsided. In other words all of the weak hands are out and the fear mongering shorts are now losing their battle with being greedy and holding the short trade too long. The stock bottomed before the earnings and should have run to 550-600 on a rebound. The only reason it didn't was because there were too many investors expecting this scenario, and there were even more that were holding on to their positions to see the earnings. They wanted to see if the big sell off from 700 was really warranted, and when the market plunged this stock lower, most of them threw in the towel. This was the same pattern when the markets bottomed in 09. It is the way the markets wash out scared investors, only to drag them back in at higher levels. Who knows what an Iwatch would look like or how it would be accepted by society or not? They said the same negative things about the Ipod, Iphone, Ipad. This rally isn't even about the cash that might begin flowing to shareholders. These are all stories that are perfectly timed to get the stock to start moving higher because the strong hands are in and want to start making money. That is it plain and simple!! The sooner you come to grips with the fact that the market is just a game, the more money you will make and the less money you will lose. An investor needs to accept this and start researching and using past experiences to figure out what will happen next, whether it be with the market or an individual stock. Technicals move the markets before the fundamentals come into play. In most cases technicals cause the movements in stocks that in most cases change the companies fundamental future for better or worse. That is the cost of being a publicly traded company. Good Luck!!

  • Baidu: Why The Current Quarter Will Surprise [View article]
Not surprised that the only couple of comments are for bashing this article. Seems as if everyone wants to hate this company right now. I don't know about that, but I do know when I see a cheap stock with a hell of a lot of growth potential and most of the analysts that follow it are turning bearish. I love a setup like this. These are the scenarios that have been major winners for me in the past. Just like RIMM, FB, and NFLX back in the 3rd 1/4 when they bottomed out. RIMM from 6.75 to 18 in a few months is not bad. FB from 18 to 32 in a few months is not bad either, and NFLX from 57 to 182 is fantastic. The funny thing is that not one of these companies is positioned like BIDU, and they have all come back from the dead so to speak. The only thing they all have in common is the hatred that was built into their stocks. BIDU will prevail in a way that no one is expecting. One of the richest man in China is at the helm and he didn't get there from being an uneducated bloke as they say across the pond. They have Billions in cash to make sure they solidify their dominance, the CEO is now also a high ranking Gov't official, and the Chinese Gov't, along with AAPL, is cracking down on QIHU's unfair business practices that allowed them to take the 10% market share that everyone is touting. Fact is that the market share gains came from the searches that QIHU used to send through GOOG. They are not in any way taking any market share from BIDU. The comscore #s from yseterday show that any losses BIDU had internationally, while very small, went to GOOG and Yandex. This is the perfect time for any investor to buy a great growth company for a substantial discount to its historical growth rate. Don't let the brokers fool you, they are buying this stock at these levels even though their analysts are saying otherwise. They are 2 totally different departments within the firm, and that is their excuse for the conflicts of interest. Its been that way since the beginning of time. Good Luck.

  • 3 Reasons Why BlackBerry 10's Strong Start Does Not Mean Buy [View article]
There are far too many opinions on this one. It just seems that no one is really paying attention to the stock for the answers. The outcome of the new phone is irrelevant at this moment. What really matters is what the stock pattern is telling us, and right now it has been a little bit impressive since the announcement. BBRY is slowly creeping back up on the recent highs on nice heavy volume. As far as the stock is concerned it is shunning all the outside noise and looking to break out into the 20's again. Fact is the market can be very irrational and shorts can be squeezed until they just blow a stock through resistance and much higher. I would look for a breakout above the 18.5 level on heavy volume, that should launch this one to the 24-25 area quickly. I would rather make money while I wait a couple of months to see if this new phone and new direction is going to be worth it. Good Luck!!

  • Baidu: The 'Google Of China' Has Facebook-Type Problems [View article]
True there could be some issues with mobile, but they were still producing some very solid growth in a slow economy, that in itself is impressive. Plus, don't forget that they raised over a Billion in the US a couple of months ago. I find it hard to believe that they aren't looking to bolster their position with a partnership or better yet an acquisition of a US company that no one is expecting. What better way can they spook all the naysayers and shorts out of the stock. I'm not counting them out with the Chinese market finally starting to rebound. That would be foolish.

  • Apple: Premium Company, Dirt-Cheap Stock [View article]
Looks like AAPL may have put in a post earnings double bottom. RSI starting to come off of well oversold levels(last time this low bounced from 500 to 600 quickly) & money flow bouncing up against highest level since early Oct.. Waiting for MACD & Stoch to verify, but by that time stock could be back over 480. Goldman was partly behind the rally yesterday with their top ten cheap stock call and 660 target. Still a lot of shorts in this stock & options.

  • Apple: New Analysis Offers Reasons For A Rally [View article]
good job!! Its funny how they only missed revs by a few hundred million, but they averaged over 600 million a day in sales for the 1/4. So one more day, not even a week, and they would have beat nicely. As I said from the day after the earnings. This was a typical market sandbag job, that a lot of investors are going to regret not taking advantage of.
