  • Apple's Whisper Number Showing Confidence [View article]
The fact remains that if you are long this stock is going to continue to make new highs at some point and you can collect the dividend in the meantime. I could care less about this day to day movement. I understand many just trade this stock and do make some nice profits doing so. In the end with my calculations I end up making more just staying long and not having to worry about timing trades keeps me at peace. Whatever is your game, good luck.

  • Apple: Examining The iPad Issue [View article]
I have a IPad 4. I have had it just about a year. I just Love it. I am 60 years old and really don't like to use my phone to search the web. My vision is not what it use to be and the iPad is a perfect size for me to view videos and read. It has freed me from having to be in one room of my home with my PC. I mainly use it at home but it is always by my side at home. I really do love it. If Apple decides to upgrade to a larger screen for the iPad I will be first in line to buy it.

  • Why Xiaomi Is Not A Threat To Apple [View article]
There is market share to go around for just about all kind and types of products. Some just get a larger share do to a lower price point. Just because a company has more market share than another really means nothing when it comes to making profits. Apple could sell half as many of any of their products compared to another company yet take in five times the profits because a certain market share of customers are willing to pay more than a average consumer. Also you have to factor in how long a lower end customer stays with that product before he upgrades to what he really might want down the road.
When I was 20 years old I wanted a high end sports car but it could only be a fantasy because there was no way I could afford one. I had to settle with a low end used model. A few short years later when I had a much better paying job I was able to move up closer to what my dream car was. I know people who go into a phone store and just buy the cheapest smart phone they can find. Most of the time it is because of a money issue. Apple is nice but that extra $200 bucks does not seems like it is worth it to them. Of course some people just are content to stay with that product. Others upgrade as soon as they have the money. The bottom line is Apple has and will continue to do just fine. They may never have all of the market share but they sure have a healthy portion of it and will continue to make billions in profits quarter after quarter for years to come.

  • Is Apple Really Gaining Market Share? Data Points Mixed [View article]
In my opinion anyone who shorts Apple at this stage in the game has more courage as a investor than I do.

  • Apple: Why So Bearish? [View article]
Apple stock, at least for the small investor, is not for the faint of heart. This stock continues to have huge swings and many people can not understand why. It seems on any given day or week there are huge swings based sometimes on just a made up rumor or some opinion of no real importance. We all know this is a great company that will continue to make billions and billions of dollars of profits for the next several years at least. They will continue to pay a dividend and most likely continue to buy back large amounts of shares. This in time will make the stock more valuable. So my opinion is you either have to just stay put and own this for the long term and forget these week to week swings, or be a trader and follow what seems to be a set in stone pattern of sell and take any profit you can and just repurchase it back when it drops back down. Traders have made quite a bit of money over the past years doing this, but so have buy and hold folks. My advice to the novice longs is to not watch the stocks day to day or even month activity. Maybe glance at it every quarter and the true number to watch is what you have done over A 12 month run. If you had bought the stock a year ago andt let it ride you would be up $29.13 a share plus got the dividend. That is not too shabby in my book.

  • Apple: What Drives Upside From Here? [View article]
Great article. I agree with a price target in the range that you stated. And then it can ease up slowly from that point.

  • Sell Apple And Put Up Your Defenses [View article]
I understand everyone has different opinions on investing. Doing in and out trades work in many cases but you have to be willing to accept that might end up being just a one time trade and you must then move on. Unless of course the stock continues to move in that same up and down pattern over and over again.

On the other hand some of us may have bought In Apple at a very very low price and look closer not so much at the stock prices upward movement but collecting a dividend each and every quarter. I have owned shares of Apple long before they started paying a dividend again a few years ago. I have enough shares that the dividend is a good income source now for me. I have also gained huge from the share price moving so high. I like the fact I do not have to worry about the day to day movement or panic when I see the price take a huge dive, in many cases for no real reason. I am happy with the fact that Apple continues to make huge profits that will allow them to not only pay the dividend but continue to increase it every year. I am just a different type of investor who still makes great money in the markets.

  • Apple: $800 Done, $1,000 Pre-Split Next? [View article]
I think the stock price will continue to go up in leaps and bounds until right before the January earnings report. That report will be better than excellent. After earnings I would be expect for there to be a pull back of some sorts. So you could either sell right before earnings or at least have a stop loss in place as protection if you do not wish to keep a long position in the stock. Unless something unexpected were to happen, this stock could continue to go up long term. It just depends if you are a buy and hold person or just a trader. Of all the stocks out there today I myself will continue to hold for long term.

  • Is Apple Worth $700 Billion? [View article]
What we don't know is as Apple continues to make record profits, how many billions of dollars of shares will they buy back. As the overall shares drop down to fewer than fewer then that is a positive for the long term hold investor. I do believe Apple will become the first trillion dollar company. There have always been those who never would have believed Apple would even make it to this level. Trust me when I say Apple has a master plan that will continue to stun the world and continue to make record profits. I am so glad that I my little share of this great company.

  • Apple breaks highs following new bullish notes [View news story]
If a person has a concern about Apple being over valued and is considering to sell then why not just put in a stop loss a few points below where the price is today. If for some reason there is a major drop in price due to some negative news or market event you are covered. As Apple stock price continues to climb you can always keep raising your stop loss price along with the increase. I would rather do that then just sell at this point. I do believe it could really hit $150 by next spring.

  • Pouring A Little Cold Water On Apple Investors [View article]
I read this stuff for entertainment only. If you were to read every article written good or bad about Apple it would make your head spin on why or why not you should own Apple stock. I only know what me common sense tells me. When Apple stock took a major tumble a couple of years ago with no rhyme or reason I knew it was the buy of the century. Article after article I read said the company and their products were doomed. I just scratched my head and asked myself how could a company who has more money than dirt and have one of the best products in the world be doomed? Right then and there I dumped what was for me quite a large sum of money into the stock, very close to where the stock had bottomed. I really never worried about the investment. I just had a good feeling that time would take care of what the true value of the stock could be. So here I am two years later and my investment more than doubled between the stock making new all time highs and the dividend payments. I am not even close to wanting to sell any of my investment today or for a long time to come. But I still get amused when I read this stuff.

  • Should Investors Follow Icahn Into Apple? [View article]
If you had followed Icahn's lead, as I did, you could have made quite a bit of money at this point. I have noting to complain about and I am staying right where I am. Apple has made me a millionaire.
