  • An Apple Ultra HD TV Could Be A Better Growth Driver Than Smartwatches [View article]
TV set market is highly competitive. I think that Apple believes it would lower their overall profit margins. The wolves in sheeps clothing would use the lower margins to batter the stock price. Never give the enemy a weapon they can use to beat on you.

  • Apple beats estimates, guides in-line, ups dividend [View news story]
As far as Apple being a one horse pony, forget it.
In 5 years or so Apple will likely come out with a computer which will be installed in the body, be controlled by thought and flash results on the eyeballs by closing the eyes.
No one would have believed in an iphone twenty years ago and the Dick Tracy watch took a long time to get here. The future will surely hold some big surprises, maybe even the one I am predicting. But one thing will not change, Apple will always have a LOW PE RATIO.
... and if everyone who wants the stock already owns it, we can still raise the price by each adding 10% more to our portfolios.

  • The Insane Apple Advantage Revisited [View article]
People who spend more to buy an Apple phone won't care very much what the resale value is. Anyone who prefers the iphone isn't overly concerned with the cost.
I know people who are considered to be otherwise cheap but purchased an Apple as well as some low earners who also opted for the iphone.

  • Apple's Dow Inclusion: Catalyst Or Curse? [View article]
This is some more confetti on the parade which is Apple.

Or to paraphrase Tennesee Ernie Ford " when you see Apple, better step aside.
A lot of tech companies didn't and a lot of those companies died".

  • IDC 2014 Smartphone Data: Apple Catches Up On Samsung; The Chinese Aren't Too Far Behind [View article]
    Same old, same old.
The dividend is better than Treasury interest rates.
I collect it and wait until it churns out another 20 points. Then I'll worry about two years from now.

  • After Earnings, Apple Is Aces [View article]
There are so many more potential customers around the world. Wait until the economic depression in Europe ends and the Chinese economy gets back on track.

When that happens there will be so many purchasers out there and so few sellers that the stock price will explode.

  • Apple Lays The Runway To $150 [View article]
I think that the Republican Congress will pass legislation to make it feasible for Apple to bring a lot of it's stash back to America.
I hope they also do something to lower corporate taxes and capital gains taxes.
I think that there will be enough Democrat votes to overcome a veto as things are heating up early for the 2016 elections.

  • It Pays To 'Think Different' About Apple's Stock Price [View article]
The old saying is don't put all your eggs in one basket. Obviously that does not apply to apples.
The safety rule is not to put more than 8% in any single company. Generally a good rule. But I think the greatest gains are made by doing the opposite, as long as it is a quality company like Apple.

  • Apple: Will Encouraging Initial iPhone 6 Sales Last? [View article]
Apple is initiating a new law. The Law of Large Profits. That's good enough for me.

  • Apple Set To Lose Big Time In EU State Aid Case [View article]
I think they are trying to pacify the US government by appearing to take action.
After all, if Apple exits Ireland, the job losses would be a negative for the EU as well as Ireland, and still another country coming to the rest of Europe with it's hand out.

  • Apple Is Letting Xiaomi Grow Rich [View article]
Some of you get it. Why would Apple want to upset the Chinese government when they are taking huge profits with the market share they now have. Why jeopardize that. Also, Apple may like seeing Samsung being diminished and weakened by Xiaomi. That could benefit Apple in the long run. What would Confucius say?

  • Apple Headed To $110 Or Higher, But Social Responsibility Still Needs Work [View article]
Talk about social responsibility; I froze my backside off last winter. Where is my reparations payment from the Global Warming crowd?
The summers have been so cool on average for the past ten years that I simply shut my pool down. There was so little opportunity to use it and it would not have been socially responsible to heat it. That's more than the Hollywood crowd does by flying around in their private planes.

  • An iWatch Cannot Move The Needle Much [View article]
Under Obamacare no one owns their personal health information anymore. The IRS and FBI will be able to get your records at will.
If there is any chance that this wrist monitor will preventively keep people healthier and less likely to need massive medical care, Obamacare will eventually force everyone in the USA to wear one. Talk about a captive market. If you don't believe it take a look at what Obamacare is currently dictating in healthcare.

  • Stumbling Apple Ramps Up China App Store [View article]
In the first quarter Apple selling 9 million high-priced phones is a tremendous victory over Xiaomi selling 10.4 million bargain basement phones. Rationally speaking you would expect a cheaper phone in China to outsell an expensive Apple by at least 10 to 1.
If Apple can maintain that ratio it will be time to break out the champagne. In the meantime I am happy with my Sangria (with some apple in it).

  • Apple: When To Sell - Part 2 [View article]
The 7 to 1 split removes a psychological barrier for the smaller and younger investors. While it has no immediate change in value, it will increase the price substantially over the long term as it will attract as many new investors as it will traders.
