  • It Pays To 'Think Different' About Apple's Stock Price [View article]
The old saying is don't put all your eggs in one basket. Obviously that does not apply to apples.
The safety rule is not to put more than 8% in any single company. Generally a good rule. But I think the greatest gains are made by doing the opposite, as long as it is a quality company like Apple.

  • Apple: Will Encouraging Initial iPhone 6 Sales Last? [View article]
Apple is initiating a new law. The Law of Large Profits. That's good enough for me.

  • Apple Set To Lose Big Time In EU State Aid Case [View article]
I think they are trying to pacify the US government by appearing to take action.
After all, if Apple exits Ireland, the job losses would be a negative for the EU as well as Ireland, and still another country coming to the rest of Europe with it's hand out.

  • Apple Is Letting Xiaomi Grow Rich [View article]
Some of you get it. Why would Apple want to upset the Chinese government when they are taking huge profits with the market share they now have. Why jeopardize that. Also, Apple may like seeing Samsung being diminished and weakened by Xiaomi. That could benefit Apple in the long run. What would Confucius say?

  • Apple Headed To $110 Or Higher, But Social Responsibility Still Needs Work [View article]
Talk about social responsibility; I froze my backside off last winter. Where is my reparations payment from the Global Warming crowd?
The summers have been so cool on average for the past ten years that I simply shut my pool down. There was so little opportunity to use it and it would not have been socially responsible to heat it. That's more than the Hollywood crowd does by flying around in their private planes.

  • An iWatch Cannot Move The Needle Much [View article]
Under Obamacare no one owns their personal health information anymore. The IRS and FBI will be able to get your records at will.
If there is any chance that this wrist monitor will preventively keep people healthier and less likely to need massive medical care, Obamacare will eventually force everyone in the USA to wear one. Talk about a captive market. If you don't believe it take a look at what Obamacare is currently dictating in healthcare.

  • Stumbling Apple Ramps Up China App Store [View article]
In the first quarter Apple selling 9 million high-priced phones is a tremendous victory over Xiaomi selling 10.4 million bargain basement phones. Rationally speaking you would expect a cheaper phone in China to outsell an expensive Apple by at least 10 to 1.
If Apple can maintain that ratio it will be time to break out the champagne. In the meantime I am happy with my Sangria (with some apple in it).

  • Apple: When To Sell - Part 2 [View article]
The 7 to 1 split removes a psychological barrier for the smaller and younger investors. While it has no immediate change in value, it will increase the price substantially over the long term as it will attract as many new investors as it will traders.

  • Dividend Investors Should Take A Bite Of This Delicious Apple [View article]
Something is wrong. The naysayers haven't been able to find any bad news on Apple to complain about lately. We aren't even hearing from the Contrarians.
At this point it's like money in the bank, except the dividend is ten times better.
The upcoming split is the best split since the Banana Split.

  • Apple In The Dow? [View article]
As I understand it every ETF that mirrors the Dow will have to buy Apple if the Dow decides to include it.
The split will lead to physcological initiative to purchase the share. Most young investors look at $500 and say I can't afford that, I have to diversify. A price of $75 will lead them to add 100 shares to their portfolio.
    It's all good.

  • Apple Mostly Just An Overvalued Hardware Stock; New Catalysts Needed [View article]
Gross margins are desirable, but higher volume at a fair margin will eventually put more dollars in the bank. Each new product doesn't have to be a world beater. It just has to put more profit on the bottom line.
No matter how large the margin is, it won't be profitable unless you sell a meaningful amount.
    It's called accretion.

  • Apple's Intrinsic Value And The Market's Irrational Valuation [View article]
Given the high market cap of Apple, is it possible that it is being manipulated? It sure seems that way. Who is big enough to manipulate the Apple stock price ?
By the way I heard that the Chinese need a larger screen because of the Chinese character writing they use. Give it to them so we know that it can't be an excuse if sales are not as high as expected.
