    $NUAN Does anyone know whether Nuance technology is part of Cortana, the new Microsoft personal assistant?

    • dgulick: Doubtful, Microsoft has their own in-house voice/speech recognition group, though it is not as developed as Nuance. Apple/Siri uses Nuance.

    • dgulick: I'm going to ammend my prior comment, I'm really not sure, Microsoft has long had a dictation capability, but its very basic, for example--

    • dgulick: --in Microsoft's Sync infotainment system (in Ford, Nissan etc) they used Nuance for voice recognition, so Cortana could be Nuance as well?

    • dgulick: Though I've never seen "Microsoft" in Nuance's press release like I have Apple, Amazon, Nokia, Samsung, etc.
