  • Barron's: Five oils to be wary of [View news story]
Russia, for example, really has no choice but keep pumping from her oil wells and sell at whatever the market prices are.

The only card in the hands of oil bulls is a rapid rebound in oil demand from China and other big economies. I mean it may not be worthwhile to bet on the oil stock's dead cat bounce yet.

  • SunPower: Weighing The Opportunities Against The Risks [View article]
CSIQ has a trailing P/E of 7 only (incredible). SunPower's number (28) definitely smells bad in today's poor sentiment (oil is so cheap) towards solar stocks.

Before the news finally arrives that JASO makes the solar cell efficiency breakthrough, SunPower should remain healthy. This is however a risk that anyone should point their finger to.

  • Vivint Solar Update: 50% Down From IPO But The End Is Nowhere In Sight [View article]
Today is December 16th already, I haven't seen TV reporting any solar companies coming to a grinding halt due to solar/utility's post-marriage problems.

I can't imagine Bloomberg would ignore this type of headlines.

  • Apple: A Pullback To Strongly Consider [View article]
The market is always right but irrational every now and then. When drilling oil underneath the earth gets expensive again, they will still go panic saying the same things.

  • Apple: iPhone 6 And 6 Plus Will Hold Their Own Against Competition In Early 2015 [View article]
Apple has only one iPhone product category to go.... and all competitors including Samsung are surrendering. If I were Apple I also wouldn't rush another one product category.

Laser focus on iPhones and more buybacks, my only wish.

  • Canaccord expects a 2015 rebound for 3D printing stocks [View news story]
    Dear Canaccord, it's over!

The first FOOL ringing the 3D printing bell already ran away with their money.

No trader is willing to give 3D printing stocks a premium, so the stock prices will hardly pop!

  • Cellphones: Xiaomi Hits Roadblock In India [View article]
Xiaomi's patent war chest should be very limited because it has risen rapidly from nothing, except Android and Foxconn.

Xiaomi is now prosperous enough to do some major M&As - could be anyone of the downstream players: Sony Xperia, Blackberry, HTC ???

    IMHO only!

  • Is Samsung The Next Sony Or Next Apple? [View article]
Samsung is the next submarine that pops and plunges before you can hit the trade buttons in the US ADR market, assuming you can hedge the currency risk.

  • AMD makes new 52-week lows [View news story]
To the bears the stock is breaking down the triple bottom at $2.5, which is as hard as a seashell to the bulls.

All in all now is the precise trading moment, but for the sophisticated only.

  • Even With Apple Watch Delayed, I'm Raising My AAPL Price Target To $165 [View article]
Longs have made money. Going short is like hog farming after the stock broke out $600 (pre-split). I am still waiting for Apple TV to disrupt the living room and the Apple market cap reaches one trillion dollars.

Maybe Apple Watch can make it before Apple TV. Shorts will learn the Apple brand power the hard way in either case.

  • SNS Wars Heat Up As Weibo Freezes Out WeChat [View article]
It's like having too many bottles of wine to choose from. I'll stick to WhatsApp until I have to pay for it.

Stock-wise Facebook is the best in this sector, because Facebook can monetize mobile traffic like a magic. All other messaging apps are hypes because they may never generate positive operating cash flow.

  • Amazon Trades For 370 Years Of Earnings, Jack Ma Thinks It Might Not Be Here In 20 [View article]
Alibaba reflects the first hand reality that the Chinese millionaires and billionaires are emigrating into the US as a means of divesting from their authoritarian home regime.

Yup Amazon could be squeezed if the Chinese factories start selling to the US customers directly via Alibaba and its Taobao marketplace. There is no way for Amazon to master how the various manufacturing ecosystems work in China, but the number of Chinese students in the US alone is large enough to move Alibaba's revenue needle.
