    Great article to stimulate thinking. Two big black swans in your scenario: if husband died. Erase his SS. The 50 percent taxable account. It is estimated that in 2014, those with $2 mil will be taxed on divs. 23.8 percent...and that could go up over time. Then you have staggering costs of a nursing home should one need it. Lots of black swanlets out there. But hey, $2 mil is better than less.

    Same as in my neck of the woods (South Chicago). Had to go to argue a parking ticket yesterday. Unable to find the court listed on ticket. Lo and behold, I was looking for a courthouse and it was in a shopping mall. Probably took up two or three store spaces.

    Great article. Companies with 50 or less are cutting hours to 30 or below. They cannot afford Obamacare costs. To make up for the work needed, they hire others for 30 hours or less. Again, the middle class squeeze. I have two acquaintances this has happened to. They are so worried they will not be able to afford their mortgage payments.

    Add Jesse and Sandy Jackson to the list of "not having to go to jail" by reason of "stress" and "they need to be with their children." It makes me sick. He bought two mooseheads @ $18,000 each and a Rolex watch....poor boy was depressed. All on taxpayer funds. She bought many furs and remodeled Washington & Chicago houses....all on taxpayer funds. We have no leaders.

    Skill set...baloney. Fewer people may be getting fired, but hours are being taken away from them. A 30-yr old trader, out of work for 3 years...new job not in finance. They just reduced his hours to 30 or below. Reason: don't want to pay for Obamacare. To make up for work shortage, his company hires new employees for less than 30 hrs. He thinks many more will default on mortgage loans.
