  • Covanta Should Be A Big Beneficiary Of Obama's Energy Policy

Covanta burns waste and generates electricity - it cuts down on landfills and doesn't import oil to make electricity. With the Obama administration stopping the wind farm in Oregon and putting up tariffs on Chinese made solar panels, Covanta becomes a better green play now that there's fewer other choices.

Disclosure: I have no positions in any stocks mentioned, but may initiate a long position in CVA over the next 72 hours.

  • KLA Tencor Set To Declassify Board

Good to see a firm choosing to improve the corporate governance (without regulators or big shareholders making a stink).

The proof that improving the governance also improves the results for shareholders is definitely out there, even if it is under recognized by the market.

In any case, kudos to the Board of Directors at KLA Tencor for their expected decision to do the right thing for the company and their shareholders - other firms could learn a lot from these good people.

  • PSEC CFO Bought 23500 Shares Earlier This Month

This security only trades about 2 million shares a day - he bought 1% of the stocks daily volume. His trades might have moved the market that day.

And as an insider to the firm, he already is very exposed to the stock price - he has to have a really strong belief in order to raise his exposure like that.

Disclosure: I have no positions in any stocks mentioned, but may initiate a long position in PSEC over the next 72 hours.
