Doesn't gold and silver tend to move in the same direction most of the time? Curious how you can short 1 and long the other, and have that work out. I totally agree with your assessment regarding real 'value' of both metals, but curious what would happen if the demand for silver skyrocketed. Would it drag gold up with it? Or vice versa, like we saw a couple weeks ago when gold tanks, it pulled silver down.

So if silver returned to its value before that random tank which occurred in February 2012, AGQ wouldn't return to it's value at that time? I saw it get as high as 120 in April of 2011.

When this thing finally does recover, I think it's going to be a seriously insane upward movement. I'm surprised it's getting this low so quickly, since it seems to me something like gold and silver have an intrinsic value and shouldn't tank.

I'm a strong believer in Value Investing, and have had great success over the past 2 years. Is anyone familiar with Phil Town: Rule #1? I use a variation on his approach to find the companies, then use the technicals from that point forward. I think the secret (which I've not seen mentioned in any comments above) is to only invest in stable companies with a good 5 year+ history of double digit ROIC, Equity Growth, EPS Growth, Sales Growth Rate, Free Cash Growth. The companies are out there. If you have that sort of stability, your chances of success are significantly greater.
