OUCH!! You have a short position in FSLR? I hope it doesn't come back and bite you. (I think it probably will) After Jan 1, institutions are going to be buying and FSLR will probably test $325 maybe more. I'm long FSLR and have been since it was $25.07 per share. Good luck ... I hope you watch carefully... :) Dec 27 10:50 AM

You are a very wise man Mr. Ling. Here's a link for you too: firstsolar.com/pdf/Bro... (Same one as Mark Anthony's but I'm sure you'll appreciate it more!) I got in FSLR at $24.84, the first day. They are local for me, Toledo Ohio, and they are an all around top knotch group of people. I know they won't keep rising forever at such a pace as they have so far, but I believe it will keep advancing at least until 2010-2011. Maybe I'm wrong and they will keep shooting the stars...It's all good anyway! Nov 29 12:36 AM

You obviously didn't read my reply to yesterday's comment you made. Well here it is again... read this link: firstsolar.com/pdf/Bro... Is the world going to stop mining? Don't think so... CT is a bi-product...it's being recycled etc...you are trying to mislead people into believing FSLR is going down the tubes...up 4% today and up more tomorrow I'd bet. You'd better cover your shorts or you'll loose them! LOL Try reading the link provided above and you'll see how Mr. Ling is "right on the money". Or maybe you won't...I forgot your "bearish" stance. :) Nov 29 12:27 AM

Your acting like a "Bear" when you should be running with this "Bull". FSLR is an outstanding company with an outstanding product. I bought on the first day at $24.84 because I know FSLR. The mfg. plant in just down the street from me. (Toledo, Ohio) I think you should do some more research objectively. As a matter of fact, here's a good place to start: firstsolar.com/pdf/Bro... FSLR is utilizing a hazardous by-product and turning it into something very useful. I'm not going to waste my time any further...if you want to short FSLR, GO FOR IT!! I love a good rally in the form of "covering shorts". Trying to profit from getting anyone to believe your position really stinks. Anyone reads the link enclosed above, will see right through your plan. I get a chuckle out of posts about FSLR and I agree with Calisdad. Nov 28 01:13 AM

Earnings are Tuesday For FSLR. I expect a huge "covering" by the shorts causing panic buying and an extreme price increase. You got burnt before...be wise BUY BUY BUY now before it shoots up Tuesday, Wednesday and probably Thursday. Estimates are around 250+ per share by DEC 31, I believe it will reach that level. That's just my opinion, take it for what it's worth. Jul 26 12:16 AM
    • Has First Solar Gotten Ahead of Itself? [view article]
Yea..GO FOR IT!!! FSLR is shorted by about 25% of it's float...So go ahead and short it to death. Disclosure: I own FSLR since the opening day, earnings are coming next Tuesday and I expect there to be quite an exciting "covering" by the shorts making my FSLR stock go through the roof!!! :)

I agree with your considerations however, let me flip the "coin" and give you another view to consider. Solar energy may be expensive now, but I believe with rising energy costs, "parity" will be reached soon. Parity is when solar energy costs equal or are less than other types of energy. My fave is First Solar because they don't use silicone. Any global shortage doesn't effect them. I don't believe Nuclear Energy has a chance.(at least I'm hoping not) Disposing of a waste that has a 300 year half life, scares me and that's not even to mention accidents that might happen. First Solar doesn't produce residential products now, and only markets them overseas. The panels they make aren't as efficient (therefore larger) as silicone based panels and are too bulky for small applications but they work just fine for large applications. Estimates have FSLR's stock at over $200 a share for 2007 end and over $800 a share at 2008 end. They are just guru estimates but I think they have a long way to go and I'm along for the ride :) Apr 28 12:29 AM

I bought FSLR on it's first day. I know the company locally (Toledo, Ohio) it's product, management, operations are all top knotch. they doubled capacity about two years ago and then tripled capacity again around a year ago. (I know this from a job interview I had with them) They are not showing a profit because they are building, expanding, enlarging and R&D'in to the max! FSLR exploded after their first earnings announcement (Way before Jim Cramer even noticed them.) I expect them to reach "parity" sooner than they have projected and I also expect their next earnings statement, 03MAY2007 @ 1:30pm to far exceed guru anaylist opinions and FSLR's projections as well. I earned 27% overnight after their first "after hours" earnings announcement and I expect to do well on MAY 3rd as well. Companies in Germany, just broke ground on one in Malaysia to be finished by the end of 2007 and in full production by 2008 end and I believe they have another scheduled for ground breaking in 2008 in China? It might not be too bad an idea for you to do some more research...then you might see what I've seen. (by the way...I didn't get the job... Apr 25 12:52 AM
