I am a private investor who uses only my own funds. I have invested in just about everything -- stocks, bonds, futures, options, private equity, foreign securities, in many industries and real estate (non public) and at times both long and short. A master of none, and I usually depend on input from numerous sources plus some of my own analysis and prior wounds for investments. I'm semi-retired at age 70; I am glad I have survived three recessions and am still in the game.

The New Low Observer (http://www.newlowobserver.com/about-this-site) is not intended for regular or non-qualifying accounts however, the strategies and stocks mentioned can be used for non-qualifying accounts with the understanding of the consequences of potential short-term capital gains as well as the need for exceptional documentation for IRS purposes.
I have a professional background of working with the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco, Bear Stearns, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. Although I am an economist (and probably because of that fact), I am adept at being resourceful and thinking in a multidisciplinary fashion. For this reason, my professional experience only reflects a wide perspective that I have gained through the years and should not connote an air of authority.

As a first-time participant in the American economy by way of fast-food, I noted the vileness and squalor into which our country was plummeting.
Now, as an SA commentator, I look forward to multiplying my earnings, once I get some, and settling down as a prime member of society, living out my remaining years in the luxury every red-blooded American deserves.
I currently live in a barn with my saxophones, watching America decline around me.
