  • An End To Our Relationship With Yahoo, A New Era For Equity Research [View article]
While I have never accessed SA via Yahoo, I commend your decision to "allow" Yahoo to move on without you…and soon without me. Yahoo is its own worst enemy with way to much advertising that clutters up every screen especially email.

But I'd also agree with several comments here as to the "quality" vs "quantity" of some contributors, plus the very obvious "shorts" that often debase a quality stock.

But we "readers" decide, and often now I do not click on the same author's useless drivel as there is no reason to fund them anymore. The "jock shock" headlines no longer cause me to click! And I do think the SA owners need to add a quality factor to the mix.

  • Why AT&T Could Be An Unlikely Buy [View article]
A great buying opportunity is approaching as the world shudders from the events of today. The bubble may not burst with a 10% + pull back, but the air is definitely leaking due to national and world events. While they don't threaten strong earnings, they due provide the fear needed for the correction.

  • No bid for mortgage REITS as yields rise [View news story]
Thanks to all. I hold PSEC, FSC, and HRZN and they have done well, but CYS and ARR are killing me! I'll wait awhile longer and with the dividends reinvested at these low prices, but I am starting to question management rather than the market or interest rates for the sharp declines.

  • No bid for mortgage REITS as yields rise [View news story]
Despite the yields, I am thinking of dumping all REIT's and buying BDC's. They seem more stable with similar yields. Any thoughts?
    Thanks

  • Clean Energy: What Was Piper Thinking? [View article]
What concerns me most is what will happen to nat gas pricing when the likes of LNG and other companies start exporting OUR gas. Will today's difference in price between nat gas and diesel remain or diminish?

These analysts are becoming like politicians...say anything, no matter how erroneous, just to shut things down. Just like the 26 yo idiot that blasted KMP.

We are losing the ability to trust. Period.

  • The Problem Of (And Solution To) Life Expectancy In Retirement Plans [View article]
The other choice for assisted living at a very reasonable cost is going outside the US. Many of the close Latin countries are starting to offer quality and affordable long term care, with the "care" often missing in US facilities. For less that $2500 a month, assisted living with well trained professionals is available with the choice of in-home care or in a managed home. Many or most of us will never be able to afford the absurd cost of care as we age, and unless we explore options, there will be "warehouses" of old folks, stuffed on shelves, waiting to die.

  • The Problem Of (And Solution To) Life Expectancy In Retirement Plans [View article]
One common theme in many similar articles is the assumption that all retirees or prospectives, are married! Many of us are single, whether due to divorce, death, or choice, and it would be valuable to include the growing numbers of us in your calculations and analysis!

Is Jamba a takeover target? I would think so given the segment and stock price.

  • Goldman assembles a list of 25 dividend favorites with unusually high volatility - meaning put sellers are getting a hefty premium for agreeing to buy the stock at a lower price. Make sure you want the stock first. The strategy works well sometimes and is the proverbial catching a falling knife at others. PFE, BLK, SE, PCL, CL, AEP, SPG, PG, KMI, AVB, CLX, CTL, TWC, LO, T, PM, TWX, NSC, DUK, VZ, WHR, WY, NEE, XOM, SCCO[View news story]
The last place I'd look for a stock recommendation would be Goldman. They play both sides of the street, cheat their customers, and then get rewarded by their buddies in Treasury. What joke.
