I am a life long resident of Utah, that being said, I have to clarify that I am non-Morman. In Utah it seems to matter which religion you belong to, sort of us versus them mentally. In Utah one either roots for BYU or against them. I received a degree in accounting from Utah State University and am a owner of a small business that is not related to accounting. I have two daughters and a wife. My father's wisdom passed down to me can be summarized in a few old sayings. 1). The world is neither flat or round, it's crooked 2). Alexis de Tocqueville was correct about the railroads and people, 3) any thing you want done right, you better do it yourself and 4) as per Warren Buffet, when people are greedy, be fearful and when people are fearful be greedy. Not much fear in today's market (Feb 2013).
