I got into investing in order to avoid paying the exorbitant fees that the average City fund manager charges. I used to work in the securities industry as a derivatives analyst, but I don't think there is much mis-pricing of derivatives and so I do not consider myself a derivatives investor, although I am happy to buy and option, or even write one if it helps me take a position on the underlying.
I am a UK investor investing through a SSAS. My investment choices are sometimes influenced by the tax position of this kind of investment. I'd be interested in meeting other SSAS investors/managers as this is a relatively rare vehicle for investing.
