  • Intel: Understanding Intel [View article]
Nobody doubts that buying McAfee was an uber-dumb move by a long-gone (mis)management. Russ's bet is that the new management will spin a pearl in what is otherwise just an out-of-season shellfish. My 50,000 shares are betting that he's right.

As one yid to another: if your nose runs and your feet smell, you're built upside down.

This "author" should take solace in the fact that even today and tomorrow the Emergency Room will surely be open wherever he lives. He should go there, taking his "article" with him. If the ER there is anything like the one where my daughter works, they will know what to do and how to help him. Short of that, he could try 911 for paramedics. They see cases like this all the time.

It depends on what you want. The Apple product will give you entry into an ever-growing ecosystem. The Samsung will give you a TV.

  • Apple's China Mobile Problem [View article]
Right. Further, where are the factories that make Apple's phone? In China. Apple is a huge customer of "China, Inc." Nothing else compares. Once some China Mobile customers start plugging into the Apple ecosystem, and Chinese entreprenuers expand the universe of Apps in Chinese, there goes the ball game.

Nonsense. Ford is up a hair on next to no volume. Mulally could simply state clearly that he has no interest in Microsoft or any other company; no gag rule would apply. Anything less suggests the contrary.

The stock is saying that the market does not much believe Mulally's statement. Odd. Certainly if he really wasn't flirting with Microsoft, there are clearer and more convincing ways to say so.

  • Alan Mulally Continues To Lead The Race For Microsoft's CEO Position [View article]
The learning curve for Mulally would be steep and not much fun. It's been a while since he "started over" with a whole new universe of people, products, and competitors. Microsoft's world moves much faster. Does anyone really imagine Gates "mentoring" Mulally? After the great job that Gates did mentoring Balmer?
