The credit card companies are finnaly running out of customers. They have out tricked themselves and should be broken up. There is very little TRUST for the TBTF banks. Consumer should deal with local banks where they can see whats going on. STOP USING CREDIT CARDS.

The credit card companies have been getting away with their tricks for so so so long, I'm surprise more of their employees don't just drop a dime to congress. I'ts no secret the victims are being penalized and the crooks are being rewarded "bailout"
TRUST what beautiful word. The banks/credit card companies have outfoxed themselfs. The droves will never TRUST the banks for a long long time. Ask a friend and listen to the war stories of their opinion of CREDIT CARD COMPANIES.

JEFF nice article. Could you give your definition of a DEPRESSION.
IMO the very financial people that fostered this mess are now putting pressure on the people that they harmed. Instead of offering to help, they are driving consumers into the ground.

RE: Modifications, after 5 weeks of paper shuffleing. the appraisel came back 25% less than assestment for ALL homes in the area then might has well said "No" right off the bat... ( just make more busy work for the banks). Checked appraisels with other outfits, they laughed. So much for loan modications to help J Q PUBLIC.

Another of how trust in banks is a crock. After three weeks of paper work their appraisel came back 27% below assestment value and every property was 22% to 29%les. This was their own appraissers PART OF THEIR COMPANY. Other sites showed at or near assestment. Bottom line, in my opinion, just paper pushing. NOT USING GOV MONEY TO HELP CONSUMER. Just holding on to the GOV. MONEY
