  • BlackBerry Passport: No Killer App, Investors Lose [View article]
I don't recall any "Killer Apps" (the diction is very telling and reveals a lot about your competence and intellect) from Android and/or Apple in the recent 4-5 years. In fact I don't even recall any improvements worth mentioning from Apple/Android.
While BBRY has implemented a new reliable and user friendy UI, now a new size-design and the trackpad-keyboard. And all of this within less than two years. As long as the number of BBRY users is not shrinking (the opposite is the case) it will be a matter of a short time until BBRY establishes BB10 as a superior OS.

  • BlackBerry's Chen Is 'Going Rogue' [View article]
Oh boy, after Apple and IBM have irrevocably joined forces and resources I assume there will be a few managers at their HQ pulling their hair yammering "what have we done? what have we done?".
I bet even IBM-CIOs are thinking about adopting BES right now.
Any CIO at any company depending on secrecy and security is going to be actually forced to introduce BlackBerry. If iOS and/or Android (with all their financial resources) would have ever been able to provide the slightest shred of security... they would have done it already.
If anyone in a company is allowed to use iOS or Android, it is because he/she isn't important enough and thus doesn't have or receive any confidential company information.

  • BlackBerry: Leaked Passport Video Highlights New Device [View article]
    I came across this.

The battery has 3450mAh. Android and iPhone owners are probably going to ask passport owners if they would be so kind to charge their phones via a cable-link.
With a BBRY passport you probably will be able to jump-start a truck.

  • After Hour Gainers / Losers [View news story]
Why should they? IBM and Apple mean a bit more efficiency... at best. BBRY is about security. And iOS's security deficits won't be improved by mergering with IBM on a few gimmicks. Simply because the merger doesn't change the fact that iOS is still iOS.
You see a business partner with an iPhone on one side of the room and you see a business partner with a BlackBerry on the other. Which one of the partners would you call a "pro"?

  • The Phablet Will Kill BlackBerry [View article]
A phablet is nothing but a larger smartphone. It uses the same operating system of its smaller counterparts. A phablet is not a technology of its own, so if a manufacurer wants to have a phablet in its product range, the manufacturer just produces one.
It's not like BBRY is completely incapable of offering a phablet. If there is a need to offer a phablet, they can offer one without problems.
But the market shows that there is no need to offer a phablet or rather that there is no phablet-market.

  • BlackBerry BBM Is Not WhatsApp [View article]
Of course people know that BBM is not WhatsApp.
That's why BBRY's stock price didn't went up to a 19 billion+ market cap, but just a few percent instead.

  • BlackBerry: The Turnaround Stock Of 2014 [View article]
If the fifth-largest automaker in the world is willing to set its cars up (or at least one model) with QNX, I guess there has been told a few things during the negotiations, which assured Ford that BBRY will still be there in a few years. There are countries where car-manufacturers have to set a five-year product liability for their cars by law.
And if Daimler AG (12th largest car-manufacturer) and Airbus (a consortium with 60.000 employees in a highly competitive market with political impact) have trust in the further existence of BBRY, that speaks volumes.
I have never seen any company laying out its strategic gameplan en detail in public. So I really have no idea what you want to hear from Chen.

  • BlackBerry +8.4% AH following Facebook/WhatsApp deal [View news story]
This explains why Dan Loeb bought 1,9% of BBRY's shares.
    He knew all along.

  • BlackBerry Name Change And Spin-Offs Next? [View article]
    Let's assume that's the case!
So you would rather let the company die in Canada than let it survive in China?
Almost no ism is worse than nationalism (assuming that is the case with you ...rather that racism).

Think about driving an Audi with its new Android OS on the German Autobahn with 200km/h+ and having an OS-blackout!
But hey, millions of Apps eh?

  • Focus On Security May Fuel BlackBerry's Turnaround [View article]
What kind of a comment is that?
If that's so, then why are you reding any of this? Why is anybody reading this? Why does anybody even bother to write or read a comment?
Besides, Wall Street is not the market. It is just a part of the market.

Anyway, the DoD mentioning its trust in BBRY is a good thing. Apart from that, I think that Chen's straightforward way of management so far is the main aspect of BBRY's rise lately.
And that is (almost) all that BBRY needs. Their products and services are great and reliable. They should do something about their marketing and sales though.

  • BlackBerry reportedly abandons sale efforts, replacing CEO; shares plunge [View news story]
I sold my shares almost with a 100% revenue (after taxes!!!). I instantly thought that it was a mistake and that I should have kept them for another few %.
I waited a few weeks and the share plummeted. I bought me in when I thought it couldn't fall lower. Now this!
In my eyes this is a well planned scam.

What a scam! This whole shebang seems to me like a plan to get BBRY for a bargain. People just can't be that stupid, except they're doing it on purpose.

  • BlackBerry's New Mistake - Q5 Pricing Makes It A Surefire Loser [View article]
If the sales figures will show that the price for the Q5 is too high, then BBRY will reduce the price. It's as simple as that and better than the other way round.
