  • Five9: Disruptive Innovator In A $20B SaaS-Based Contact-Center Market [View article]
Three days of huge volume finally seem to slowly clear the excess supply that has been weighing on the shares for some time. Taking a swing long position here.

    Regarding cash burn:

Net cash is around $40 mln and cash break even is projected to arrive somewhere in late 2017 which I guess might be in the too distant future to make investors feel comfortable. Remember also that the projection is based on flawless execution of their business plan which hasn't exactly happened during all of 2014.

Good work but clearly investors are fearing that the company will run out of cash before break-even is reached which might very well happen if the business takes another step back just like it has been the case in the midst of 2014.

And there's a huge seller in the market. Unless other institutional investors share your bullish view of the company the stock price will be under severe pressure.

Investors should stay on the sidelines with eyes on stable or even improving execution and cash burn.

If the stock finally moves up on huge volume this could be the time to initiate a swing trade position.

  • Examining North Atlantic Drilling's Risk Of Bankruptcy [View article]
Current results are entirely meaningless as they are generated from contracts signed with oil prices well above $100. Investors are worried about the future of the company with the Rosneft deal most likely dead and little to no future cash flows to offset the debt pressures.

  • Frontline Ltd. Is Looking Good For The Bond Payment [View article]
There are at least half a dozen tanker stocks out there with responsible management and a continous dividend history so better look there for a long term investment. Frontline might do very well once the convert issue has been finally resolved but given their history I don't think the stock is suited for a long term investment.

  • Frontline Ltd. Is Looking Good For The Bond Payment [View article]
I wouldn't view Frontline as a long term investment. The shares have performed terribly over the years as management really does not care at all about shareholder value. They are mainly using their exchange listing to keep the company afloat and to ensure their jobs and accompanying huge payouts.

Once the current oil contango situation has reversed tanker rates will fall back and FRO will look as poor as ever.

  • Why I Bought CafePress [View article]
Well done but the core business clearly remains a huge problem here given the pre-announcement that came along with the sale of the art business:

"For the fourth quarter of 2014 CafePress expects to report revenues in the range of $82 - $84 million and expects its earnings per share to be substantially below analyst consensus estimates".

As long as this business continues to underperform expectations by such a great margin I wouldn't expect the shares to trade above cash value.

  • Seadrill: Another Buying Opportunity Reveals Itself As Investors Lose It Over Petrobras Contracts [View article]
Actually Petrobras DID finalize 2 other contracts with SDRL previously agreed on so I would assume that they are just cutting back on spending like all other major players do during the current downturn. This is not a special situation caused by the problems at Petrobras. Anyone who listened to the most recent Diamond Offshore conference call got an impression how bad things really are and they will become even worse going forward. Seadrill's backlog will continue to suffer from cancellations and re-negotiations, the shares should be avoided at all cost.

  • Seadrill Partner, LLC Declared Today It Raised Its 4th Quarter Dividend To $0.5675 Per Unit [View article]
In fact Petrobras just cut their already agreed commitments in half but stayed with the other half so obviously they are still able to do some business. A 50% capex reduction should be pretty normal for an oil major these days.

  • Seadrill Partner, LLC Declared Today It Raised Its 4th Quarter Dividend To $0.5675 Per Unit [View article]
Seadrill just announced the loss of $1.1 bln (5% of current backlog) in previously agreed contract extensions with Petrobras. While the situation at Petrobras clearly is somewhat special it is just another indication of the difficulties the industry is facing even with existing contracts.

  • Frontline Ltd. Is Looking Good For The Bond Payment [View article]
    Back to reality:

The company bought back another $33 million of the convert in the open market at a very slight discount. There's NO debt-for-equity-swap included this time which is decidedly positive.

  • MiX Telematics: A Rare Opportunity To Buy A Stake In An Excellent Company At An Excellent Price [View article]
Another reason is that the company has problems executing against its own promises. Once the company starts to significantly overachieve on ambitious targets the market would correct the "mispricing" easily.

But given the latest results and outlook this won't happen anytime soon if ever. Why bury your money in a stock that looks cheap for pretty good reasons ? I don't get it and the Mr. Market is on my side here.

Actually this was just another mediocre quarter with another underwhelming outlook overall. The shares remain dead money at best.

  • Update: American Superconductor Outlook Bullish With Growing Cyber-Security Threats And New $1.50 Price Target [View article]
None of the things you mentioned will change the short term problems of the company. Cash is running low once again and further brutal dilution needs to happen to keep the company going for some more time.

I do not hold a short position - the company might become a compelling investment once cash flows turn positive but at the current burn rate it does not make sense to own shares here.
