I'm not athletic but I am competitive. This is a good "sport" to be in. Thinking that I'm smarter than the average bear, I feel that I should be able to do better than the market averages and the big mutual funds. But, I've been at this a while and have only mixed results to speak of so far. That said, it's been a rough last several years, so I guess I should cut myself some slack. I'm comfortable with my investment strategy: Essentially LONG, kind of like CANSLIM, but more focused (I think). I have a custom screener that I run daily, looking for financially sound companies that are within 10% of their 52-week high. Then I compile these daily results and look for trends within each of the stocks. I further refine most of my selections that I actually trade on smallcaps, as I tend to think that the volatility will work in my favor.
