    What are you hearing?

  • Worth noting: Short interest on Walter Energy (WLT) rose 13.8% to 17.05M shares through the end of May, to 27.47% of its current float and the largest number of shares sold short in the past year. Before today's move, shares were down nearly 14% and it might be reasonable to speculate that shorts increased positions somewhat over the last two weeks. Shares are still halted, with the stock down 17.4%[View news story]
    Why will they cover?

Velti wasn't listed in that article. I'm assuming since millenial was, that velti falls in the other column.?

4 million shares today, closing close to lows of day with no lift. Shorts are in control, and they know something that we don't. Unfair game, only been 6 weeks since last equity raise and seems they need more cash already..... I'm sure within next day or so we will see news of equity raise. 6k filing is all old news. Nothing I read in it indicates anything new. Am I missing something?

Stone my bet is a cash crunch forcing an equity raise. Who can push other investors out? Other than shorts pressing, short interest is increasing not decreasing. At 1.40 for short int to increase is a scary thought.... Shorts still are not covering, they obviously know about an impending equity raise probably south of 1.30' knowing they can cover all the shorts from 2.12 set back recently to current price. Question is will shorts ever cover?
    And why

    James ,

This is the new 6k filing I believe.

On April 24, 2013, we closed a private placement of our ordinary shares transaction under which we entered into a Securities Purchase Agreement with certain institutional accredited investors. In connection with this transaction we issued an aggregate of 16,529,412 ordinary shares at a price of $1.50 per share resulting in net proceeds to us of $23.1 million . A substantial portion of these proceeds were used to satisfy our obligations to former shareholders and key employees of MIG.
While we anticipate generating positive operating cash flow for the year, this positive cash flow is not expected until the third quarter of 2013. As a result, we may need additional financing during the next three months to provide sufficient operational liquidity. This additional financing may be facilitated through the issuance of equity or debt. If we need such additional financing, there can be no assurance that our efforts to find such financings will be successful, or on terms favorable to us.
Our ability to continue as a going concern is dependent upon (i) HSBC not exercising its right to accelerate our obligations under the revolving credit facility (ii) our ability to maintain sufficient liquidity to meet our obligations arising from normal business operations when they come due and (iii) our ability to generate profitable operations in the future.

    Very disappointed.

    James ,

Thanks for your response. It's amazing millenial media does less revenue than velti , yet has a market cap 6 times greater. Granted MM has a better balance sheet . Any word on the HSBC line of credit waiver? And terms? Concerned of a potential equity raise again. Short interest is 35% of float and yet at 1.55 they still don't seem to cover.... What am I missing that the shorts see?

Why can't they spin off and sell mobclix for $100 million plus? Does 10mm a quarter. Sum of the parts , worth more than the market cap

Also why doesn't jeff Ross buy any stock here?

Look at revenue for velti and its market cap, do the same for MM. And growth rates. Velt a better deal here...

  • Is The Rebound In Velti For Real? [View article]
Why is the short interest close to 40% of the float? And how often are the shorts who are this aggressive at almost half the entire float! Wrong about their position? What do they know ? And why aren't they concerned about a merger or bid for the company?

Why is the short interest 40 percent of the float? That is huge! How often do the shorts get it wrong when they have this much conviction..
