Starting with computer programming classes in college, most of my career has been involved using computers in the advertising and design industry. Hence, my interest in keeping up with technology. Started out using PC's until starting a publishing business in 1990 when I got my first Mac. Have been a loyal user ever since, but that doesn't mean I don't recognize mistakes the company has made.
As an investor since the 80's, I have learned three simple truths: 1) insiders are always going to have the edge, so look for value instead of following the herd; 2) even when you've found a great company, there is more than enough manipulation by the big guys and their lapdogs in the media to screw with valuations in the
short term; and 3) every purchase decision we make is a vote with our dollars, so I'd rather be happy with investment choices that support the future I want to see built, with companies that are good corporate citizens.
