  • Wedbush analyst David Nierengarten says Dendreon's (DNDN +4.2%) chances with Provenge in the EU are practically zero. While the EMA is likely to grant approval, Nierengarten asks "Who's going to make it?" He points out that no European manufacturer has yet stepped up to work with the company. "All-in," he concludes, "we do not estimate any sales for Provenge in the EU, and we do not believe the European opportunity, if there is one, would be profitable in any significance." [View news story]
How are you Mr. Cohen? I had some blood work done, and no sign of Hep C. Thank God!
On another note I have been nibbling on IMMU.
Have a great day, always nice to chat with you.

  • Dendreon Analysts Getting Very Skeptical [View article]
With a third short this stock, it is still considered the first choice, (within it's spectrum) Why is that? Yes we have the price of the drug, (but is it that more than others in the field? no!!)
Personally I would lose a bunch if some one bought it for 30-40% above its current price. ( I wonder why it hasn't been bought at this low) PROVENGE has less side effects than others in its class. It would fit well for a large company who knows how to market the drug.

  • Tim Cook (AAPL) on the five-inch smartphone: "Our competitors have made some significant trade-offs in many of these areas in order to ship a larger display. We would not ship a larger display iPhone while these trade-offs exist." He adds that if IDC's right, the smartphone market declined 30% since December, so Apple's decline of 15% beat the market. [View news story]
Lets not forget Samsung infringed on patents from Apple. Stealing is not my idea of R&D. It's to bad the judge (who was Korean) didn't have the guts to make Samsung take those phones off the market, instead of just levying a One Billion Dollar fine only to reduce it months later.

Nuance has always been in Apple's rumor mill. But to be honest I thought netflix was yrs. ago. It's hard for any company to give 30% plus to the Federal Gov. just to bring it back to the U.S.

  • Jefferies' Peter Misek cuts his price target on Hold-rated Apple (AAPL) to $420 from $500. He's slashing his revenue numbers and seeing about a 25% chance the company misses Q1 guidance after Jefferies' recent supplier checks. "Historically when handset makers fall out of favor, they fall faster/further than expected." Shares -0.7% premarket. [View news story]
"when handset makers fall out of favor" what!!!!! are you telling me these kids know the stock is down? My friends boy won't take his tablet to school because it's not an IPad.
I was in the Apple store Sat. and I couldn't even try out the toys, it was packed. I guess selling 47.5 million I phones last quarter vs 50 million really messed up this company!

  • Apple: Desperately Seeking Capitulation [View article]
    Dear DumpsterDiver
It's the home work some of the writers on Alpha, that they don't do that bothers me.. For instance a few weeks ago an article was written about how Apple needs cheaper phones, when we all know they lowered the price on the 4s without making a cheap phone. When the next phone Apple puts out they will lower the prices of the pass phones. ect. ect.
Another was what a huge mistake to make a smaller IPad...hell they couldn't even build those fast enough.
And then there is all the talk..Samsung ! Samsung ! (who spends nothing on R&D except for refrigerators, washers and dryers) just waits until Apple comes out with a product, copies most of it and adds some new stuff. They remind me of the Chinese who makes a good looking fake Rolex. Samsung does not break down their smart phone sales, bulks figures all in one, and writers here say they are going to take Apple down! Some writers are getting paid for this, and that's what ticks me off. They write words with no basis behind most of it.. It's like the many (if you look back) who said: "I was long APPL till 700, then I stated shorting it" Frankly I would love to see the proof of this, ha!

  • Apple: Desperately Seeking Capitulation [View article]
And let's not forget December sell off because of this messed up President who said "he only wants to tax the rich" People who held large gains took profits, and hedge funds shorted the stock. Just check your middle class first check in 2013.. "you will find it to be a little less"...Didn't you?
The fact is people are scared when any stock drops and capitulation kicks in.. "which by the way,it all ready did!!! Time is what it takes for any stock to regain it's reverse trend.
I purchased APPLE at 515.00 and been buying ever since. Contact me at the end of 2013...PLEASE

how do PHE stock holders benefit with this type of spin off ? Sure is not the same as COP spin off of Phillip 66 in which we got stock of the new company.
