  • A Nice Day To Be Long GE [View article]
    Wow,
Ge has been such a dud for so long. Being so big, it can't get out of it's own way.
    Sounds like Washington,DC.

  • How To Benefit From Rising Interest Rates [View article]
Everyone and his brother should know the faults that are in Unemployment numbers a.k.a. the Employment numbers.
New Home sales are decent, but the fact that existing home sells are in a mess is one of several problems. Bank of America doesn't want to touch a re-fi. It took me 3 months to get one thru them with great credit and they sold the loan prior to my first payment. In other words they just took the closing fees, and many other fees I still cant get a answer on...then they just ran away. I have been with this bank for 40 years. This is the bank that grew by helping people way back in the Great San Francisco Fire. I have know Idea why they bought the mess at Country wide? and I think they are still scratching their heads today about that one. Now comes Merril Lynch, who doesn't remember the name or the "Bull" logo. They do not push the brand or the company. "Hell, people know Etrade and Ameratrade better when asked. Us old people remember it !!! They dont push Merril Lynch enough; Advertise and give out a free on line fake account for people to play with. That would boost all the frequent traders thus add to the botttom line."Wake up Bank of America, otherwise you will smell the roses from the other side."

  • Apple Earnings Preview: Positive Read-Through From Hon Hai; Focusing On App Growth [View article]
It is strange for the companies that put together Apple products having record earnings, and the author being Bearish on Apple.
After Apple earnings come out, and they miss the Author could point to the operative word; "Bearish. If they beat he could point out; The suppliers had particularly strong 58% to 42% Respectively.
So It's my opinion the author is telling us readers, he has no idea if Apple will miss or beat, but it looks good by the suppliers side and the App. side, and I will remain Bearish.
Thanks, you have been so helpful.

  • Wedbush analyst David Nierengarten says Dendreon's (DNDN +4.2%) chances with Provenge in the EU are practically zero. While the EMA is likely to grant approval, Nierengarten asks "Who's going to make it?" He points out that no European manufacturer has yet stepped up to work with the company. "All-in," he concludes, "we do not estimate any sales for Provenge in the EU, and we do not believe the European opportunity, if there is one, would be profitable in any significance." [View news story]
How are you Mr. Cohen? I had some blood work done, and no sign of Hep C. Thank God!
On another note I have been nibbling on IMMU.
Have a great day, always nice to chat with you.

  • Dendreon Analysts Getting Very Skeptical [View article]
With a third short this stock, it is still considered the first choice, (within it's spectrum) Why is that? Yes we have the price of the drug, (but is it that more than others in the field? no!!)
Personally I would lose a bunch if some one bought it for 30-40% above its current price. ( I wonder why it hasn't been bought at this low) PROVENGE has less side effects than others in its class. It would fit well for a large company who knows how to market the drug.

  • Tim Cook (AAPL) on the five-inch smartphone: "Our competitors have made some significant trade-offs in many of these areas in order to ship a larger display. We would not ship a larger display iPhone while these trade-offs exist." He adds that if IDC's right, the smartphone market declined 30% since December, so Apple's decline of 15% beat the market. [View news story]
Lets not forget Samsung infringed on patents from Apple. Stealing is not my idea of R&D. It's to bad the judge (who was Korean) didn't have the guts to make Samsung take those phones off the market, instead of just levying a One Billion Dollar fine only to reduce it months later.

Nuance has always been in Apple's rumor mill. But to be honest I thought netflix was yrs. ago. It's hard for any company to give 30% plus to the Federal Gov. just to bring it back to the U.S.

  • Jefferies' Peter Misek cuts his price target on Hold-rated Apple (AAPL) to $420 from $500. He's slashing his revenue numbers and seeing about a 25% chance the company misses Q1 guidance after Jefferies' recent supplier checks. "Historically when handset makers fall out of favor, they fall faster/further than expected." Shares -0.7% premarket. [View news story]
"when handset makers fall out of favor" what!!!!! are you telling me these kids know the stock is down? My friends boy won't take his tablet to school because it's not an IPad.
I was in the Apple store Sat. and I couldn't even try out the toys, it was packed. I guess selling 47.5 million I phones last quarter vs 50 million really messed up this company!

  • Apple: Desperately Seeking Capitulation [View article]
    Dear DumpsterDiver
It's the home work some of the writers on Alpha, that they don't do that bothers me.. For instance a few weeks ago an article was written about how Apple needs cheaper phones, when we all know they lowered the price on the 4s without making a cheap phone. When the next phone Apple puts out they will lower the prices of the pass phones. ect. ect.
Another was what a huge mistake to make a smaller IPad...hell they couldn't even build those fast enough.
And then there is all the talk..Samsung ! Samsung ! (who spends nothing on R&D except for refrigerators, washers and dryers) just waits until Apple comes out with a product, copies most of it and adds some new stuff. They remind me of the Chinese who makes a good looking fake Rolex. Samsung does not break down their smart phone sales, bulks figures all in one, and writers here say they are going to take Apple down! Some writers are getting paid for this, and that's what ticks me off. They write words with no basis behind most of it.. It's like the many (if you look back) who said: "I was long APPL till 700, then I stated shorting it" Frankly I would love to see the proof of this, ha!
