  • Cal-Maine Foods: An Obvious Case Study With A Remarkable Catalyst For 75% Upside [View article]
It was aimed at swimjames. I thought it was a really well researched piece, and it seems silly to point out minor grammatical errors (if there in fact were).

  • AT&T: More Positives For The Stock [View article]
    Tradevester,

Any reason why the free cash flow is trending downward, and will that trend continue? I came to the opposite conclusion regarding the FCF of 2.53 Billion: the dividend requirement of 2.3 B doesn't leave a lot of room for error.

  • Abbott Labs Should Be In Your Dividend Growth Portfolio [View article]
According to the Q4 2013 CC, fully year EPS was 2.01, which is a PE of 19.46 at today's price of $39.12 as I write this. Using low end of guidance for 2014 ($2.16-$2.26) the forward PE is 18.11. Not quite as expensive as Fast Graphs may have you believe.

I sold some Jan '15 65 puts on the sell off yesterday and used the proceeds to buy more pep. I'm pleased they have decided not to spin off the snacks business.

  • Hey, Intel Investors, Take 5 Deep Breaths [View article]
2014 will be another transition year for INTC, and much easier to buy and hold when I originally bought it yielding 4.5% rather than the 3.6% it yields today. I would be more than happy to buy it back at the former yield point, and I think there's a chance we might get there at some point this year. I sold some above $26 prior to earnings, and the rest of my position yesterday slightly above $25. I agree with the author that long term, INTC will likely win mobile. I just think we'll see a better entry point later this year.

  • Snowball Down A Hill: My Dividend Growth Portfolio 2013-2014 Report [View article]
I elected to sell INTC today. I originally bought when I considered it undervalued and at a 4.5% yield point. Much easier to hold there rather than the 3.6% it currently yields. It looks like 2014 will be another transition year for INTC, and the lack of a dividend increase solidified my decision. I'd be willing to hold through the transition period again if it can again get down to that 4.25-4.5% yield. INTC will likely end up winning mobile eventually. But I think we'll likely see a better entry point this year. I re invested my INTC holdings in V and ABT, both with significantly lower yields, but better prospects going forward. V yielded 0.73% at 180 last year, and yields the same today as I buy it at 225. ABT has a fairly low payout ratio that they'll likely expand in the coming years, and have a history of being very shareholder friendly. Thanks for the update DVK, always enjoy the read.

The problem with that line of thinking is you have to rely on the market to properly price the security in question. BRK fell with the rest of the market in 08-09 though one would presume their capital allocation prowess remained largely unchanged during that period.

I'm probably in the minority here, but I hope they don't split the businesses apart, as I prefer the current diverse structure of JNJ.

Must say I keep coming back to this article for the AE and RS exchange. I believe AE wins this one, as RS's "I know because I know" rants are much less convincing than AE's viewpoint. Now I remember why I stopped clicking on RS's articles long ago....

My plan is to let TGT drift further towards its 52 wk low and closer to the 3% yield point, and then perhaps sell some OTM puts for a further margin of safety.
