I think the killer feature will be the integration into home automation. No one has talked about this much. That and telling time.

  • Apple: It Is All About Improving Margins [View article]
I think if you attempt the upgrade with the iPhone plugged in to your computer via iTunes rather than the OTA update, it uses less memory for the update process. Might be worth trying if you haven't done that yet.

  • Apple's Q3 Bonanza: The Real Story May Be Not Quite So Bullish [View article]
Is this Michael Blair the person he is reporting to be? I did a quick search of "Michael Blair" and "automotive" and one of the first few links was a 2002 article from The Wall Street Transcript. Low and Behold, the picture they use is the same picture he is using for his SA profile. Why would someone use a picture from 2002 on a new profile the created in early 2013 when he started posting blogs to this site? It's entirely possible he is who he says he is, but it is also entirely possible he is not. Buyer beware...Here is the link for those interested: http://bit.ly/1rV7Zfc

  • Apple: Why The iWatch Is A Win/Win Situation [View article]
The health monitoring aspect the the purported iWatch is often discussed, but I think the true benefit to an iWatch may be the integration with Apple's Homekit and push into home automation. I doubt most people think they need an iWatch now, but imagine if you could control your home security, HVAC, blinds, etc all with your watch, which is the device most likely to be on your person as you traverse your home. I think this may be the "wow" factor that drives adoption of the new product category.

  • Apple Would Find It Difficult To Integrate Beats Electronics [View article]
Could this be a way to get a streaming subscription service on android without putting the iTunes branding on it? I read something a month or two back stating Apple was looking into putting iTunes radio on android, and found it hard to believe they would do that at the time.

  • Apple's Think Different Approach To Quarterly Math [View article]
Thank you for your response. It seems somewhat subjective that Apple assigns some value to the services provided. Will this allow them to "smooth" out the numbers they report in future quarters as a poster above suggested based on how much the decide to defer (or not defer)?

  • Apple's Think Different Approach To Quarterly Math [View article]
Thank you for the optimistic article, and I hope your analysis is correct. A question though: Can you explain why Apple is deferring hardware revenue based on making software sales free? What's the reason behind this?

  • The iPhone 5S's Graphics Are Insane [View article]
I'd more interested in seeing how the 5s compares to the playstation Vita or other portable gaming devices. With the introduction of the new made for iphone controllers from logitech and MOGA, I think the iphone/itouch gaming market could be huge (more so than it already is) if gaming companies start making "console quality" games for the iphone. I very rarely play games on my iphone/ipad b/c I prefer the analog sticks/d pad of a Vita or 3DS.

  • Apple Should Send Delusional Carl Icahn Packing [View article]
Tim Cook likely knew that having dinner with Icahn would push the stock price up. Remember, his options are now directly tied to stock performance if I remember correctly. I can't think of any other reason he would agree to it. I agree Apple should just ignore him, although it may be increasingly difficult.

  • Apple: $500 A Share Now Solidly Behind It, $550 Target Up Ahead [View article]
Call me a fanboy, I noticed that the gold 64GB 5s was in stock at an apple store 5hrs from us last weekend so we hopped in the car and took a road trip. I'm upgrading from the iphone 4, so it's a huge difference; very happy with it.

Munster et al must feel like fools. I'd be interested in the breakdown of units sold of the 5C vs 5S.
