  • How Low Will Apple Shares Go In A Major Market Correction? [View article]
It should be clear to all how skittish investors are and thus how quickly severe sell off stampedes can be initiated, sometimes on irrefutable data of how troubled the Eurozone is and at other times on the faintest of rumor. The resulting wild swings in the market really show in Apple equities at the current share prices, while everyone seems to agree on how strong the underlying fundamentals are. So, the author's point that Apple will get dragged down by the vicissitudes of this environment unfortunately has merit.

The difficulty on the one hand is that while it may create buying opportunities, it is likely to be largely for institutional purchasing as Apple remains above the entry point for most individual investors. Algorithmic institutional, day traders, and shorts will continue contributing to the jumping jack volatility of Apple shares and contributing to its inability to stabilize. So the long investor needs to tune out the noise and rest on the solid numbers, performance and moat that this company has built. It will pay off with marching upside in the end.

  • Apple's Brick-And-Mortar Supremacy [View article]
Walk into any Apple store, anywhere with an appointment and walk out a short time later with problem solved. They are always full of customers shopping, ooohing and aaahing over everything they see. You don't find that at the Nook kiosk, nor the Verizon retail outlet. That is brand excitement, brand loyalty, customer and customer satisfaction of the highest order, which translates internationally as well. This is fly over country and tangible, not merely hype or advertising. That coupled with the strong balance sheet is what makes Apple a force to be reckoned with in the smartphone and notebook space.

Mac users are loyal but remain a unique breed and a smaller slice of the desktop and laptop world, however, I think Apple realizes the smartphone, IPad and ICloud are about to make the Mac or any other laptop almost irrelevant. Apple is moving faster and better than anyone else to dominate that space.

  • My China Syndrome With Apple [View article]
Never forget the value of walking around and asking people. Everyone wants an IPhone or IPad. They don't want any other. If they have a Droid or other tablet, they want to move up to Apple the minute they can afford to do so. My barber just moved up today after Droid for the length of a contract. Did u see the crush of people trampling each other to get IPhones in China? Did u see the pre-sales of IPads? That will tell u where Apple is going. Plus they are sitting on a small country's worth of cash, with which they can continue to fund R&D, keep the best talent, and promote the next series of product rollouts for the foreseeable future. That is leverage their peers don't enjoy. Data is imminently important but sometimes u just ave to look up and look around to get a feel for a company's presence in the market place and the size of their moat.
