  • Credit Suisse stresses a more defensive posture in MLPs, focusing attention on large, relatively liquid, investment-grade MLPs or affiliates with exposure to the coming crude oil production boom in North America. Its eight favorite MLPs to buy now: WMB, QRE, LNG, TRGP, CQP, XTEX, ACMP, GEL[View news story]
I agree that CQP and LNG look best. However, I think I Will just buy the "basket" of MLPs (symbol: AMLP or MLPA). Both are ATFs and report on form 1099 not a K-1.

  • The permit approval for the Freeport gas export project opens up the dam for other pending applications, but the pace of coming decisions is still unknown, analysts say, adding that similar projects building from existing facilities are best placed to secure approval and financing. Meanwhile, Cheniere Energy (LNG) has reaffirmed its operating target date of late 2015 for the export terminal it is building at Sabine Pass, La. [View news story]
If you want value and income, sell your LNG and buy CQP. Same company, but more income.

  • Eni (E) says it now expects oil output from the massive Kashagan field in Kazakhstan to begin by October. The Kashagan project, which includes large oil companies such as Exxon (XOM), Shell (RDS.A, RDS.B) and Total (TOT), is years behind initial schedule and has had cost overruns worth billions of dollars. [View news story]
The old saying "it takes money to make money" will be confirmed in the Kazakhstan venture. With the brain power of the super major oil companies involved, this will be a winner over time.

  • Cheniere Energy (LNG +3.1%) has remained strong all day after morning rumors that it may be exploring a potential LBO and rumored premium averages of ~25%. Such rumors have been around before, and Jim Cramer thinks they're "ridiculous." [View news story]
This LNG vs CQP dance is a bit similar to the KMP vs KMR tango. You must be an insider to know the difference.

Apparently there is a bit of confusion here. The real money resides in Cheniere Energy Partners (CQP) not (LNG).. Perhaps someone at Seeking Alpha will write about this conundrum.

  • 3 Reasons Not To Flee Dividend Stocks [View article]
I am retired and ALL of my investments are in my IRA account. They all fell like a rock in water over the last three weeks, so, no safety there. My only hope is that there is no reduction in dividends coming. Stocks, ETFs, MLPs, BDCs, REITs.....it made no difference, all down like in 2008.
