    Bad accidents do happen in the oil industry. Risk is always in the cost of unintended events. BP has suffered from an enormous blowout and opportune scavenger tort lawyers. The worst may now be over or near over. Let's hope so. we all need a healthy oil industry that is willing to take the risks.

    COP is typical in it's reliance on oil prices. If you are looking for stability, oil is not your best bet. I am old and retired, so the telephone companies are my comfort category. Some to consider: T, VZ, CNSL, VOD. These are not exciting like the oil explorers, but are a steady source of income to pay the bills.
