    Chevron's focus will be on the deep water Gulf of Mexico acreage. They won't get tangled up with that shallow Pemex stuff.

    I understand your feeling about BP. They had a well blowout and are road kill for the tort lawyers. That notwithstanding, they own Gulf of Mexico acreage that is regarded as the very best. After all, that's where the big money will come from.

    For safety of dividends sake, just buy Chevron (CVX). They have top acreage in the Gulf and no legal baggage. Another to consider would be Conoco Phillips (COP).
