    Seems to me that you are just "pumping" your XOM. My advice is to hold both CVX and T then add some COP. XOM is a good company, but not better overall than the three I mentioned.

    Perhaps Chevron is increasing it's debt is to be in a position to make an acquisition of another oil company that has attractive reserves/acreage in the gulf of Mexico. That's where the safe oil is.
