A word to the wise. Stay with your bond investments. There will be a lot of time to retreat when the time comes.....probably 2 or 3 years hence.

  • Outlook For Equities: Time To Take The Foot Off The Accelerator [View article]
I agree. The Bush tax cuts were ill advised. Spending money on a war that was discretionary and not providing for it's cost smacks of stupidity. Worse, now we are expected to extend this economic nonsense by the Tea Party's control of Congress.

I am retired, so the only one on your list that interests me for immediate meaningful income is CTL. If you are young and still working, buy the whole list.

  • High Dividend Stocks: Rising Oil Prices Will Increase Dividends [View article]
I hold Sabine (SBR) in my IRA account and have never had a tax problem. The distributions are treated the same as ordinary dividends received from any stock. There may be tax issues with some royalty trusts but, not with the SBR type trust.

  • 2 Dividend Stocks To Buy, 2 To Avoid, And 1 To Sell For Retirees [View article]
Never sell JNJ unless they stop selling Band Aids and Tylenol. They are not an APPLE, but they will survive the worst of times and 100 shares will get you a check for $61 every three months this year and more next year.

  • Should You Invest in Chile? [View article]
This article is right on! As far as investing in BCH or SQM directly, I believe the best course is to go with the managed Aberdeen Chile Fund (CH). That fund also delivers a very good dividend.

  • A Sampling of Investment Advisors Seeking Dividend Growth for Your Retirement Portfolio [View article]
A fairly recent Seeking Alpha article made a convincing argument that buying currently high dividend stocks beats the dividend growth variety. A "bird in the hand" position that makes a lot of sense to me.

  • Cheniere Energy Poised To Correct: Gross Overvaluation In Relation To Negative Cash Flows [View article]
I like Kinder Morgan as an ongoing and growing company. However, the article about Cheniere is very misleading. It is still a very young enterprise that is well placed for the future of our abundance of NGLs.

  • Banco Santander - Tough Bank Tender Offers [View article]
SAN will be at 13 before long. They know the banking business better than their peers and have the financial strength to take advantage of the current political turmoil in Europe. They are an international institution in all respects.
