  • Update: BP Taps 'Her Majesty' For Help With Its Legal Woes [View article]
Apparently, the author of this article is as biased against BP as New Orleans judge Barbier. Basically what BP and the U.K. government want is a recognition of the intent of the settlement. It certainly was NOT to pay claims to uninjured parties. Common sense, common law, what's not to understand?

  • Government slams BP over Gulf cleanup assessment [View news story]
The "accident" was not unusual in the oil patch. It is called a BLOWEOUT. Never wanted, but always a risk taken to provide fuel for our economy. The hardball we are playing with BP is a shame on the tort lawyers and the legal system.

  • Avoid Prospect Capital [View article]
This article is full of conflicting opinions, largely unfounded. The dividend yield on PSEC easily covers the risks involved for income investors.

  • BP Still Needs To Clean Up Its Reckless Act: Another $18 Billion In Fines On The Horizon [View article]
The whole tone of this article is biased against BP. Why? It is a top story that the author is milking for cash from Seeking Alpha for every word printed without regard for the damage it creates. I would think that SA should be seeking a bit of common sense in this matter. BP's well blew out. This is a risky business that is needed. BP is doing it's part to help those that were injured, but not a cent for those that filed false injury claims. Hopefully, the Supreme Court will bring some common sense to bear on this corruption.

  • Halcon Resources: The Future Remains Questionable And Unclear [View article]
Halcon's large acreage in the TSM is what makes me "stay the course", debt burden notwithstanding. The TMS play is a seductive attraction. There is oil down there. Those with acreage will be the winners.

BP's mistake was in expecting a fair shake from Louisiana's often rather corrupt legal history.

I agree. The Bush tax cuts were ill advised. Spending money on a war that was discretionary and not providing for it's cost smacks of stupidity. Worse, now we are expected to extend this economic nonsense by the Tea Party's control of Congress.
