After working with, as opposed to depending on, professional managers for 20 years I decided 5 years ago to manage my own money. I have a diversified portfolio consisting primarily of stocks. However, I have small positions in some ETFs and mutual funds. I do not presently own any bonds - something I expect to ease into in the future. I'm a Peter Lynch disciple. I like to understand, first hand, the stocks that I buy. For this reason I favor consumer discretionary, real estate, and retail stocks. In addition, I like companies with strong overseas sales. I enjoy reading articles on line, in magazines, and in newspapers about companies, their leadership, their growth, and their earnings.I am happy with the annual returns I've posted - especially during the bounce back we experienced in 2010. I look forward to learning more about making "smart" investment decisions in the future as a result of the information provided by Seeking Alpha.
