And to think this stock used to sell for 40 bucks a share. Not sure where M. Dell will take the company. What a run they had. Hate to see this happen.

  • Healthcare REITs Should Perform Well Under Obama [View article]
Great writing. Do you ever sleep:-) Those Healthcare Facilities that have paid higher dividends consistently every year are the best kept secrets out there. You mentioned OHI (10 years), and I think you have written about these: SNH (9 years); HCN (5 years); and the Aristocrates: HCP (27 years); UHT (26 years). On a side note. Just received the second issue of Kiplinger's Investing for Income and sort of disappointed. You need to write for these people; they need your kind of writing..... of course they probably don't pay worth a darn. Thanks again for all your hard work on these REIT's. 200 articles!!

  • Make More Dough By Watching REIT Dividends Grow [View article]
National Retail Properties, Inc.(NNN) is also an interesting REIT. P/E is not off the charts (KIM: P/E 65; ROIC P/E: 115) and the company has been paying 23 years of higher dividends and the yield is nice at 5%. A much safer investment for me.

  • Retail REITs Continue To Provide Measurable Consistency And Durability [View article]
Nice post. I get a little nervous with the P/E's being so high on these stocks. O is around 42. They are way overpriced and there are other stocks that have very nice dividends that aren't overvalued and have nice stock growth as well as dividend growth.

Realty Income (O) DGR is only around 2.6% and the stock value has increased very little in the past few years. The dividend yield is 4.3 which isn't bad but as I said before, there are better dividend investments for the long haul than these stocks.

  • Ford Continues To Outperform; Shares Are Still Undervalued [View article]
    Great news today (November 5):

Ford (F) sales in China rose 48% Y/Y to 60,518 vehicles with sales strong of the automaker's Ford Focus model. Results may have been boosted by anti-Japan sentiment in the nation stirred up by a territorial dispute. Ford plans to introduce two new SUV models in China shortly.

  • Will iPads Replace Textbooks In K-12 Classrooms? [View article]
    Nice article. I certainly agree.

Textbook adoption at K-12 is very expensive. And then you upgrade every 5 or so years. Doesn't make sense. No more book bags to lug around; just a simple tablet (K-12 and University). But publishers are going to fight this tooth and nail. And perhaps the authors too, especially at the university level. I'm afraid textbooks are going to go the way of magazines and newspapers.

    Oh, one more thing.

People in our church can be seen reading the bible and following along with the minister and his sermon on their tablets; most are iPads.. Don't you love it. We haven't gone wireless yet in our church.........probably just a matter of time.

    Eventually ministers will be saying:

"Please turn to Mathew on your tablet Bible and read along with me."

Attendance among the younger generation will probably skyrocket.

    Welcome to the digital world.

Stock trading below $11 on this Thursday morning. I knew this was going to happen. Traders making their penny profits. Why don't they leave this stock alone. No accumulation. 21M shares traded already and it's only 10 a.m. With Allan sticking around for a couple more years, thought there might be some bounce to the stock. Guess we will have to wait and see.

The only way coal stocks will every look attractive is if they pay a nice juicy dividend and then I am not so sure about that.

  • Ford Continues To Outperform; Shares Are Still Undervalued [View article]
Great post. I like this company. I have always been impressed with their recovery. Got in when the shares were trading at 2.00 and continue to buy/accumulate at 9.99. I agree with Jacob, once they straighten out Europe and hopefully improve sales figures in South America and Asia the stock will see 20 bucks soon. Meanwhile, not a bad place to park some funds with a dividend of 2%. Beats the bank.

  • Buying This Telecom Stock Could Hurt Your Portfolio [View article]
    I certainly agree.

As I stated in a previous post this morning:

Stock growth in the last 5 years: 2.73%
Dividend growth in the last 5 years: 4.46%

    These are not stellar figures.

T trades like a utility stock. Great dividends but no stock growth. This will never change in my opinion. But it would look more attractive if we could see a much higher DGR.

  • Procter & Gamble: Not Much Room For Short-Term Upside [View article]
Nice post. Don't you mean Q3 earnings report. You are exactly right, dividends are good but don't expect any upside in the price of the stock. I see the same for companies like KMB, CLX, CL, and maybe JNJ. I think there are better stocks out there for both dividend growth AND stock growth.
