  • Caesars - Short Or Buy Puts Before Chapter 11 And The "Institutional Dump"  [View article]
Informative analysis, but I think the comparison to GTAT is flawed in that it was a sudden unexpected BK. And inst. investors seem to double down recently, despite the looming bk, can u comment on that?

  • From $16 To $60? Where's The Magic Wand For Caesars?  [View article]
Hi, I'm a retail investor and got a short position in CZR and some Jan put options a while ago because I was certain they wont be able to avoid bankruptcy (and assuming that would send stock to zero, which may be wrong?). However, reading about institutional investors and current shareholders like Cooperman from Omega Advisors (former GS exec) upping their position significantly by a billion shares gives me big doubt if shorting is still a smart play. My main problem is I have no idea truly if the stock is worthless once they go to a planned bankruptcy with CEOC? some think that bankruptcy would be good for the stock? if so, how so? can you guys shed some light?

  • USPTO issues initial rejection of Vringo claims, shares +1.2% premarket  [View news story]
So much noise , endless challenges and lack of clarity, can some patent expert pls explain if this challenge is now of a google or vrng claim ? Ie is it pro or con google? And why are these things never final, it's a joke how long this can be drawn out. I thought the rr ruling this week was supposed to be the final say before last appeals decision? Ie when will this google case most likely be finally closed? And by final I mean FINAL. No more spinning, filing appeals etc

  • Vringo Gets Second Injunction Against ZTE: A Global Licensing Agreement Looks Imminent Now  [View article]
I'm also Vringo long, but blaming some short conspiracy is a bit too tin foil to explain the consistent lack of movement anywhere significant with this stock in the last year. At the end of the day they have yet to get any significant real victory or payment from these lawsuits and prove a sustainable business's model, so I wouldn't call their jury verdict a year ago vs Google "slaying them. "

  • Vringo Vs. Google: Value In The Jury's Mistake  [View article]
my thoughts, too, everybody casually changes numbers here, ie it jumps from 3,5% to 35% in the jury calculation (looks like an intentional number, not a transposition errror)as used by the jury with the other defendants? where does that come from?
also, why 20,9% instead of the 20% used in the trial (see slide)? simple rounding?

  • Preview Copy Of Article On PTO Risk To Vringo Royalties  [View instapost]
I'm no expert, but I'm amused to see a formerly renowned "expert" such as Mr Ravisher self-destruct and resort to immature mudslinging with repeated lambasting of VRNG longs as delusional, "with nothing but hope and hype and personal attacks". Now who is the one taking things personal?

  • Vringo: Could It Be Worth $2 Billion?  [View article]
James, you say in your worst case scenario "Cash awarded to them from Google: $30 million" but it's actually just 15,8 million.
rest is AOL etc. so that makes C not 120 million for the remaining royalties, but 60 million roughly. You don't mention the chance of the judge to correct the "wrong math" of the jury, but that's also highly speculative.

  • Vringo Vs. Google: Verdict Imminent, Trading Halted  [View instapost]
this wrong math rumor is puzzling to me, the presumed "correct" calculations are based on 35% not 3.5% in that post ie http://bit.ly/RWPmU9, sounds like wishful thinking to me, anybody care to prove otherwise?
    I'm long VRNG

  • Building A 7 Stock Short Portfolio Now  [View article]
QUESTION: I'm a small private investor at scottrade and just got into shorting, but already have a bad experience, ie shorted OPEN two weeks ago for a mere $1k and now got the call that I will have to cover. How do other investors do it on a big scale? what are your options in shorting? Scottrade told me I can only borrow from those investors at Scottrade that loan money to buy shares so that's a small pool and thus likely I have to cover at any given moment, which I like to avoid to sit out some swings.
