  • The rapid drop in the unemployment rate, now below 9%, has some thinking that the Fed may be closer to starting tighter monetary policy. But if the lower rate is based on a shrinking labor force - at a 27-year low - are things really any better?  [View news story]
Just wait for Winconsin, Ohio, Indiana, Nevada, California..... public workers to get laid off. Numbers will be ugly again. Public workers are the next big shoe to drop. Another shock wave!

Dear ISRG: You can look at the VIX fear gauge. No fear out there just yet. Buffett is right so you have to wait for the VIX to take off then it is time to buy in but not now. We are not even touching the correction percentage zone yet. It is still under a very normal correction pattern. Stay put and wait.

  • "Anyone who buys a house these days and pays the asking price is overpaying." Such attitudes, continually weak home prices and “a substantial risk" of further declines of “15%, 20%, 25%” do not bode well for the longevity of Obama's presidency.  [View news story]
Totally agreed. I have friends bought a home just last year and the overall value have dropped another 10-15% depending on the location.

  • Market recap: Stocks surged to their best day since March 2009, driven by three major events: aggressive intervention by world central banks, China’s monetary easing and a strong U.S. hiring report. But when the dust settles, investors may realize the first two of those drivers actually underscore the fragile state of the global economy. Advancing stocks on the NYSE led decliners five to one.  [View news story]
US is now leading or printing cheap money for EU banks. Fantastic! Why are we doing all that? We are having trouble getting credit here and yet they get automatic dirt cheap money.
The hole is now getting even bigger. Thanks Tim - Ben and the entire FED party goers.

True but AMZN is not just selling movies. This is an on-line retail King or Queen. They are far better than CSTR & NFLX. I see this stock has a support value @ $174-176. CSTR will continue to rise with the recent fall but NFLX will fall with overheated stock price.

  • Don't buy the hype, Gary Shiller says - "stocks are anything but safe." The stock market is rising because Fed policy is making it rise, but the economic recovery is much less than meets the eye. Housing isn't any better, Shiller says, expecting another 20% drop. So is anything worth investing in? Treasury bonds.  [View news story]
Gary Shiller: His call was quite accurate before. Don't discount his comment.
FED was pumping up with funny money and now with, EU austerity, earthquake, tsunami, nuclear radiation, middle-east fights and who knows what else is still out there. Bears or no bears, they are real. Have to be a smart bull to watch all traps!

  • BlackBerry (BBRY -2.8%) slumps after S&P's James Moorman cuts his FY13-15 estimates while reiterating a Sell. He's worried about the fact Sprint (not the most enterprise-focused U.S. carrier) isn't supporting the Z10, and about the impact of rival spring/summer phone launches. Yesterday, HTC announced the One, its new flagship Android model, and Samsung will reportedly announce the Galaxy S IV on March 14. BlackBerry's newfound volatility has led its beta to spike to 1.65. • Republican Congressman Ron Paul plans to hold a hearing in May on the Fed's emergency loans from its discount window to non-U.S. banks. The "staggering amount" lent to these banks "provided no benefit to American taxpayers, the American economy, or even directly to American banks," Paul says.  [View news story]
What are you doing with capitalism if you are a marxist!? SA is not for you at all. Where have you get yourself educated?

    According to Wikipedia:
"In 1928, Stalin replaced the New Economic Policy of the 1920s with a highly centralised command economy and Five-Year Plans, launching a period of rapid industrialization and economic collectivization in the countryside. As a result, the USSR was transformed from a largely agrarian society into a great industrial power, and the basis was provided for its emergence as world's second largest economy after World War II.[2] However, during this period of rapid economical and social changes, millions of people were sent to penal labor camps,[3] including many political convicts, and millions were deported and exiled to remote areas of the Soviet Union.[3] The initial upheaval in the changing agricultural sector disrupted food production in the early 1930s, contributing to the catastrophic Soviet famine of 1932–1933, one of the last major famines in Russia. In 1937–38, a campaign against former members of the communist opposition, potential rivals in the party, and other alleged enemies of the regime culminated in the Great Purge, a period of mass repression in which hundreds of thousands of people were executed, including Red Army leaders convicted in coup d'état plots.[4]"

Anything has to do with printing money.
    It is Weimar Republic, Germany.
