  • Bernanke thinks inflation is tame: "The rate of pass-through from commodity price increases to broad indexes of U.S. consumer prices has been quite low" because those factors are “relatively small” weights in his measurements. But with prices for gasoline and food ripping higher, the world view of those not in the ivory tower seems very different from his.  [View news story]
"Bernanke thinks inflation is tame" Maybe in his neighborhood. Well maybe his wife does all the shopping. He is late on rescuing market at the beginning and now he is over-rescuing by drowning us with cheap cash and inflated gas price.

When price of gas hit $4 and up. Our economy will be stalled again. I am seeing lots of instability in so many countries. They are all saying the same thing (rise of Food & Fuel cost). Are we immune to that? Not at all.

Looking at TZA, it is truly ridiculous. Will it approach to near zero before it turns around? It is not even possible to hold it longer than 1 day for 95% of the time. You will be shot when you short it. Like burning money.

  • 2 Standout Companies Among Junior Rare Earth Miners [View article]
Given China is cutting half of its quota. Both Lynas and Moly will do well. Hitachi and WR Grace are both fine with light grade materials. It is the defense sector will demand more of the heavy material so Moly won't cut. That really leaves Lynas to be the prime target.
Great Western can only be on the speculation side even they have one heavy minerals mine under exploration in UTAH. You have to deal with a whole lot of political arms struggling if they decide to open a new mine. Senator Orrin Hatch, interior secretary Ken Salazar, EPA and Green movement will all involve with any new projects in UTAH.
If you are familiar with normal timeline for minerals exploration then
you are looking years behind Lynas and Molycop.
This is not good as an acquisition target within the nx 18 months.
The best one is Lynas. I don't see anyone can surpass it.
Right now, Australia is the commodities haven.

  • How to Play Rare Earth Metals [View article]
REE is really the bubble boy. Only MCP and LYSCF are real. The best one is LYSCF. This is the only company can produce both light and heavy rare earth metals. REE needs to mind in Canada (own turf). Only light elements are in Wyoming and it is not operational at all (only surveying).
BHP is hunting down companies to buy so MCP is really a good target in the US when they start producing large quantities of rare earths. The #1 company is really Lynas. This is the real Rare Earth Gold Mine!
