JP: Doesn't Axion have to be careful about the language it uses in these registration statements about its prospects since new buyers from the PIPEers rely on them?

Stephan - This is what Axion stated in the 2013 Q3 10-Q:

"As mentioned in our second quarter, we have been working with an additional partner with respect to the manufacture of a product for the hybrid passenger vehicle market. That work has continued in the third quarter. We have made modifications along the way and will continue to do so with the concurrence of our OEM strategic partner."

Here's the most recent language Axion used on the subject on 2/10/14, at p19 of the Form S-1/A:

"Work continues with the hybrid vehicle manufacturers we have been working with for the past several years. Third party testing continues under protocol developed with our longest standing OEM partner. We have also been in discussions with a new top 5 vehicle manufacturer regarding partnering with them on advanced stage testing of a two battery system. As we have previously reported, the interest of several OEM’s has been fueled by our White Paper that highlights the importance of “charge acceptance” in battery products designed for the micro hybrid and stop start markets."

Wonder if the timing of the shareholder letter depended on this data point: "The revenue rates paid to us, and confirmed in the log of daily price participation rates published by PJM for all of 2013, firmly validate the high IRR and ROI our stand alone PowerCube model provides."

Couple quotes that caught my eye.

pg42-"If thermal variation identified thus far exceeding 10 °C
cannot be reduced, viability of road locomotive hybrids using the PbC® technology is questionable."

pg50-"Due to battery management challenges and the complexity of modeling the hybrid system, NS has requested removal of task 7 / G. NS is actively pursuing a hybrid locomotive but the timing of this locomotive has been delayed."

pg61-"Following meetings with the FRA April 2012, NS and the FRA agreed to focus on higher voltage systems between 400 - 800 V DC as necessary for locomotive operations and respectively requested this task be removed from the 20 II scope of work."

    Stretching Trucks’ Mileage
The tail alone can improve fuel economy by up to 6.6 percent at 65 m.p.h., Mr. Smith said. That number agrees with the upper end of the range of theoretical results projected in the national laboratory’s report.

“There’s no doubt that they work,” said Steve Phillips, senior vice president for operations at Werner Enterprises, a transportation and shipping company based in Omaha. Mr. Phillips said his company was still in the testing stage, however, with about 134 of the company’s 23,000 trailers outfitted with TrailerTails. He estimated that the tails, which cost about $2,200 each, would pay for themselves in fuel savings within a year.

I also support JP 100%. Thank you APH for zapping the trolls. Hopefully the most recent faces of OMY are now banned. It is a serious and unwelcome distraction to allow trolls the privilege of posting here. Happy Holidays to all.

Let me join the chorus, JP. You described Omy's behavior well over on Brand X. The comments started out quite positive and supportive of Axion, then slowly turned skeptical, followed by increasing shades of negativity, and finished by urging everyone to sell sell sell.

If I did the math right, that means Axion can become a billion dollar company on 4% market penetration of hybrid trucks alone.

Thanks, Tim. Looks like there's still uncertainty about exactly how much activated carbon is in each shipment, but the positive trend is clear - Axion is rapidly increasing its ability to make PbC batteries.

iindelco's link shows an 11/21 arrival. Wonder if the shipment is stuck at the port, and whether that will cause Axion any heartburn if it is.

To keep it all in one APC, here's the link from Metro in APC-161 to the prior 2 orders, so all 3 shipments were for 360 cartons each. http://bit.ly/PlsoKJ

I find it hard to contain my excitement!
