  • Dividend Growth Investing And The Benefits Of Being Patient [View article]
You clearly state the case for dividend investing and the need for patience. Three stocks I should have bought and held were Schlumberger and Southern Company. However, on the down side, look what happened to Lucent and Global Crossing. Overall, a good article.

  • 5 Ways You Can Excel At Picking Stocks [View article]
This is an excellent article. Alan's points are clear and practical and could lead to some success for the investor willing to take the time to do the research and follow their picks. Financial advisers or stock brokers often do not know more than the average investor (I have been there). They look for guidance from their company strategists who are frequently wrong. The market as we know is somewhat like horse races, but just as with those, we have to research the trainer, the jockey, and the horse to increase our chances of winning.

  • Dividend Investors Should Consider Lockheed Martin [View article]
I bought LMT in the 125 range and watched it go up. Then I sold in the 160 range and took profits in an IRA account. Of course, I am very sorry I sold. The dividends were impressive as well. But I am afraid to get back in at the current valuation.

  • A 15%-Yielding Utility Fund... Or Is It? [View article]
Yes, my account is pending while they update the shares. I feel reassured because people scare you about the Return of Capital. It makes you think that you will only be getting your own money back. But when you draw out your dividends, the fund is still making capital gains and increasing in value.

  • A 15%-Yielding Utility Fund... Or Is It? [View article]
    Thanks ReaperLynx,

If you have about 5200 shares, does that mean you get about $350 a month in dividends?
Do you reinvest or are you collecting the monies?

    Best,

The 7 cents a month can be reinvested each month, until you are ready to take your distributions.
