I went back to grad school in finance at UNL in the late 1980s and learned Valuation techniques. I typically use DCF and seek out companies whose present price is much lower than calculated value and is close to its smallest historical p/s ratio. When it rises to its largest historical P/S ratio. I typically sell with a tight stop-loss. I have averaged 17% annual growth rate over the years.
I also look for firms in disruptive industries and invest when I can calculate a positive fair value below price I become very interested and thoroughly investigate. Reading annual reports and going to web site.
