Bui omits to mention two additional conditions (other than $45 oil) on which the company is relying when it says it can continue distributions at $0.23 for 2009. They are: natural gas at $5.50 per GJ and an exchange rate of $1.25. An average gas price of $5.50 looks very optimistic. And NG is 43% of Penn's production

Does anyone have the slightest idea what Gem Hudson is either saying or trying to say?

Oil vs. the Market: Major Changes Expected This Month [View article]
I'm curious about the performance of DUG relative to OIL in the last week. OIL dropped 8.2% but DUG increased just 8%. It should have been closer to 16%. The action on Friday was particularly noticeable. OIL declined by $2.88 relative to the close on Thursday but DUG increased only $0.81. What do you think was happening here?
Suncor, US Bancorp and MasterCard: Using a Stop Loss When Investing [View article]
Many thanks to foobah and Popska5125 for the suggestions. I wouldn't switch brokers (to TD Ameritrade) to acquire the alert feature but I'll follow up with Marketwatch and Yahoo.

Given the title of the article, I was hoping to find a reference to a software program that continuously tracks movements of selected stocks and triggers alerts after an investor has set stop loss percentage amounts. For example, when, say, SU is rising in price, I want to set a trailing stop loss of 10% so that as soon as it declines 10% from its high, I receive an alert to sell. Does anyone know of such software? At present, I have to review all my stocks one by one, every day to see whether they've dropped 10% (or whatever) below their all-time highs.
I doubt that any of those companies can rival the U.S./Malaysia/China microcap in which I've been invested for the last three years. It's just produced its audited 2007 results. Revs up 30% at $48 million, net inome up 147% at $1.76 million. Guidance for 2008; revs $55-60 million, net income $2.5-3.5 million. The stock is now selling at $0.15. Call sign SDGL. I think it will be a 10-bagger in two years. By the way, I'm also an Oxford graduate - and have managed multinational subsidiaries in Asia.

Maybe the forced sale will do CBI a favour. (Or is it contesting the decision?) Like an infusion of cash, for example. But I don't have the time to check the history and see what the implications might be for CBI's earnings. Any views on this, anyone?

It would have been more helpful if the writer had indicated how investors might cash in on this huge increase in internet advertising. For example, is VIP a possible beneficiary of advtg revenues?
I'd probably do the same. Many investors regard the VIX as a contrarian indicator so at higher VIX values, logic dictates buying puts that are either at or slightly out of, the money. Peter Dunkley

I don't understand the difference between the two sets of figures. What does 'absolute' indicate and why do all the negative figures in the first set turn positive in the second? Peter Dunkley
