  • Afrezza Could Be Sanofi And MannKind's Goose That Laid The Golden Egg [View article]
I like this product, but it has High Head Winds to break thru....plus doing a Fev1...is easy but a negative for docs....

I like this product, but it is more driven by the pts. asking for it. And many pts. will still need long acting insulin, so their is the rub. I have sold diabetes pills in the past. Most docs wait until the A1c goes to 8 before adding insulin, which would mean an average glucose level of ~180. Plus you have both Lilly and Novo Nordisk, pointing out all the negatives of the product. Believe me I know.
So you have 1 positive from the Sanofi rep, and 7 bashes from the others. Hard to overcome when the product is only equal to what they are already using.

I work in pharma and the Endo's in my area are NOT interested in the this product. When they tell pts. they have to go get a lung function test before starting, that is a red flag....his words not mine.

  • One Internist's Glance At MannKind's Afrezza [View article]
yep...I agree. I sold ReZulin for Parke-Davis. First on the market for PPar drugs for diabetes. It worked great, and was approved with NO liver tests. Guess what, 6 months after launch a few pts. died of liver failure. Never, say never the pharma business....

  • One Internist's Glance At MannKind's Afrezza [View article]
Afrezza has it's place. Will it change the world? NO. Will it help people who don't like shots....yes. will many pts need a long acting insulin yes. Smokers have a lot more problems than just diabetes...they have a MAJOR lifestyle problem. So this product will plug away, and will sell, but NOT as much as everyone thinks.

  • Amarin's (AMRN) CEO John Thero on Q4 2014 Results - Earnings Call Transcript [View article]
You can only state what AMRN legal team has said, and the FDA make the drug Co's stick to what's in the PI. That is Trig's >500. Docs are not dumb, if they think this product is better for pts with lower Trigs's then they can use it.
We see all the processed food out their and Pizza & Beer being downed by many people...this drug should do just fine. Looks like a one trick pony..they have anything else???

You might be right. I sold for AZ for 10 years, from 2000-2010. They had good drugs...Nexium, Toprol-XL, Crestor, Seroquel. But they really did no have good people in marketing.
I also launched "Lipitor" for Parke-Davis. Thus they had me a sales rep go the HO and see the Launch Marketing Plan for Crestor....It was the WORST one I have ever seen, and I told them so...in a nice way.

It had a man on a surf board riding the wave....get this...here it comes the sale line...."RIDE THE WAVE WITH CRESTOR". They pulled it a short time later. Just goes to show you how stupid many of these Master Degree people are.......Me Dig!
