Good info. I think a few Co's could get into a bidding war. Thanks for the article.

Many diabetic pills don't work that well or many lawyers want to sue...Actos, Avandia...etc.....Metf... can be hard on the kidneys....so more insulin type products are needed. I have yet to find one diabetic who LOVES the needle...Ya dig!

More diabetics in USA, how many new ones want to use the needle? Many pts. will seek this out. Endo's will be a player and will want to use it, and see if it works well. What they don't know is many diabetics SKIP their shots and then load up on the next dose. Happens all the time.

  • Is AbbVie's Bullishness On Its Hepatitis C Drugs Valid? [View article]
Of course this drug will be approved. Not everyone takes liptor...FDA goal is the medicine safe and effective. So how many ace inhibitors are on the market. One drug might work great in pt. A, but not in pt. B.

    Never say never in medicine!!

  • News From Sanofi About MannKind's Afrezza And Its Future [View article]
If a diabetic pt. gets pneumonia, it depends how serious it is. If in hospital they will probably get the injection insulin, and maybe some PO's.
Diabetics are very un compliant for the most part.

How was her Triglicerides? Any number over 600 not good for the pancreas. Also at 92, anything can and will happen, even if you give her placebo.

SNY: They let many of the USA reps go. Novo Nordisk has plenty or reps. So the squeaky well gets the pts.
New diabetic pts.. want something other than shots....this will do fine if SNY can get it together.

Many Type II diabetics got that way because of poor lifestyle choices. Plus I called on many docs over the years and this number basically came from them. But they could be wrong, they only treat hundreds of diabetics a year.

    Show me a real number>>>

Your many points are valid. I launched many drugs...Lipitor for Parke-Davis, Nexium and Crestor.
Many docs, have to be beat over the head to let "OLD" information out and new information in. That is much harder today. Plus I think Sanofi, has a big internal company fight on their hands, with Novo reducing prices of insulin, Inhaled Insulin will sell, but it will take awhile.
How many pts with diabetes,(excuse me for this) give a rip about it?
10-20% maybe. This drug will be easy to use, and get better compliance.
Novo-Log when it was approved only had 36 pts over 65 years old..What?
They may have cherry-picked their pts...

Doctors won't change drugs if the pt. is doing well. It is the "new" pt. who needs therapy. If insulin is needed, and if the pt. has half a brain, they should know or will find out about Afrezza. Docs write Symbicort, Advair, and inhalers drugs all the time. It will require a doc to think....If the doc needed insulin which would they use? I say Afrezza first and if don't work you have the needle.

Afrezza has NO steep learning curve...it's simple. A lot easier than shots.

Also you can see what the posts are on: http://bitly.com/17gaDCR. You can look at each pharmaceutical co. and see what people post. Beware, a lot of it is BS...but you can see early trends on new drugs.
