  • Energy Transfer Management Raises Cash Payout: Investors Dance On Tables [View article]
I liked ETP for the yield of 7-9% over the last three years depending on cost. Now the stock has appreciated 10-15%. And future plans look good.

This may not be best of breed, but it's good enough for me.

  • The Greenbrier Companies: A Call Option On America's Energy Renaissance [View article]
It would be better if you had a more current chart for Rail Delivery of Crude Oil etc.

I think it would clearly support a case for "Off the Chart".

  • Tesla: Another Good Quarter, Encouraging Outlook [View article]
Uncle, you speak much but seem to know little.

Your enemy big oil does struggle, but little oil, guys like me, have put 2 million barrels per day of new domestic oil in the tank in the last 3 years. We have backed out equal amounts of imported oil in that time frame including most Middle East oil exclusive of some dedicated Saudi heavy needed by certain refineries.

Most of this new production is shale oil from horizontal wells and new frac technologies.

If you want to post on this website you need to know your subject.

  • Tesla Motors - Runaway Momentum After A Solid Quarter And Outlook [View article]
Reminds me of the time that my cousin (police officer) pulled over a SS396 Chevelle in order to try to trade him out of his "fuel injection" hood. It worked. Was it legal or ethical?

    Quien sabe?

  • Energy companies push British Columbia to clarify proposed LNG tax [View news story]
Considering the huge bureaucratic workload and gigantic onsite regulatory needs I suspect that a LNG tax of 110% of profits would be appropriate.

  • Can Tesla Reach 500,000 In Vehicle Sales Or Is Dougherty & Co. Overly Optimistic? [View article]
BMW i8 will not compete with Model S. i8 is a hybrid and will cost over $200,000.

    Different concept.

Somewhere in the fog, however, lurks the i5. But will it get here before Tesla conquers the market? Interesting times!

  • Can Tesla Reach 500,000 In Vehicle Sales Or Is Dougherty & Co. Overly Optimistic? [View article]
Tesla owners and potential buyers love the Model S for 3 reasons:

    1) Performance car acceleration.
    2) Beautiful design.
    3) Electric propulsion.

    Not necessarily in that order.

Every other EV car currently on the market is electric, but no more than that. Performance is generally in the econobox range and styling is, well, strange. Only BMW i3 approaches performance with 0-60mph in the 7 second range, but still not in the Tesla category.

Tesla will base their forward models on all 3 parameters, including Gen III.

So far, no other competitor has presented this complete vision.

  • Tesla: Many Unknowns And Moving Parts [View article]
Everyone thinks Tesla will move to the cheap Gen III car as soon as possible in order to increase unit sales. OK but,

Current Model S runs quarter at 12.37 @ 110 mph close to supercharged 556hp Camaro.

Elon should and will commission a run of 650hp Model S supercars that will blow doors off of all current ICE hot rods.

    Inverter change, that's all.

Supercars will sell at a premium, don't you think???

  • What To Do With Tesla's Stock [View article]
Julian Cox was always been opinionated but thoughtful, insightful and serious but wordy, and somewhat combative but never in my observation truly insulting.

In my experience, it has been easy to get skewered by the SA police. I think he got a double dose of the same.

  • Potential Liquidity Problems And Overvaluation Make Tesla A Short Candidate [View article]
The incentive to invest in oil and gas on a groundfloor basis is very positive. Generally 2.5 ROI and 20% ROR. Beats heck out of most stocks including oil stocks.

So selling out of oil RI and WI to invest in alternative energy makes no real sense. Especially close to retirement.

What worries me is that Tesla, Ford, Nissan and the other up and coming electric car guys, combined with declining gasoline consumption due to improved mileage could ultimately drive crude oil prices down. Not what I want to hear in retirement.

Not to mention the shale oil revolution. Now there will never be an enduring crude oil shortage.

I'm not changing horses at this late date, but I'm still a bit nervous.

  • Potential Liquidity Problems And Overvaluation Make Tesla A Short Candidate [View article]
I am hoping TSLA crashes back to $95.00. My order is in to buy more. The depth of buy orders probably will keep this from happening though.

BTW, I am in the oil business, and Tesla is making me nervous.

  • Budget Outlook Improves Dramatically [View article]
The key to this chart is the unprecedented fact (since post WWII) that the Federal Government spending has been flat for three years.

If they can continue this trend for two more years (I know, Obamacare) we might be close to a balanced budget.

Of course, every Fed that I hear is crying the blues, end of the world and such. Funny that they should have to suffer the same trials that we taxpayers have suffered for the last five years.

    Not sympathetic.

  • Tesla Is About To Become An Even Bigger Bubble [View article]
My best guess is that every Tesla car buyer becomes a stock buyer. They are true believers and are likely wealthy. This might help fuel a continuing bubble.

BTW, I was in the Washington D.C. showroom last week. In my 40 years of car buying history, I have NEVER before dealt with such a capable and competent staff.

    Long.
