  • Expect Strong Dividend Growth From Williams Companies [View article]
I've long liked WMB, but the dividend growth for this yr has mostly happened. The current run rate is $2.32, so boosting to $2.38 by year end is 2.58% growth. The June div will still look great YoY, but the following comparisons won't. The Dec '15 div will be 59-60'ish vs 57 for Dec '14, i.e. YoY of 4.4%.

I don't think people get the connection. *This* opportunity is very small, but it may also be a step towards a big opportunity, like ulcerative colitis. Worst case, another rare disease should soon have an effective treatment. Yay humanity!

  • Kinder Morgan posts mixed quarter, hikes dividend [View news story]
Hmm, did you read the press release? (and who cares about revenue numbers for an MLP, even a C-Corp MLP)? The div raise was as expected and they're on target for the year, i.e. CAGR & DCF are perfectly meeting expectations. In fact, usually Q1 is their weakest quarter of the year, and they have excess DCF coverage:

    * KMI on Track to Meet its Full-Year Dividend Target of $2 Per Share

    * Generated $206 Million in Cash Coverage in Excess of Declared Dividends in the Quarter

They will put their $ where their mouth is... While telling everyone to short, they'll be scoping up cheap shares on the buy side. That's how GS works.

    > EPD would be one of the four along with KMI, Williams group, and maybe MMP.

That list, but with ETE/ETP (instead of MMP)

  • Enterprise Products declares $0.375 distribution [View news story]
    Frustrated with EPD.

GEL has the same long track record of raises (40+ quarters in a row), yet they manage to grow the distribution >= 10% every year. EPD retains a lot of cash to fund projects, but shouldn't that turn into increased growth rate *at some point*? EPD even got the Goldilocks surprise when they got approval to export lightly processed crude. So they start exporting said crude, and again... no uplift?

Having a yield + CAGR of 10 like EPD vs say 15-16 for GEL makes a huge difference in return. There is something to be said for minimal risk, but GEL has managed this glitch-free growth for > 10 years now. People need to ratchet up the heat on EPD mgmt to *deliver* instead of treading water.

  • CorMedix: High Probability Of Phase 3 Success? [View article]
I doubt the warrant holders are converting and then selling the shares, so doesn't really matter. Most will hold for the liquidity event. The biggest reason for buying *now* is there's a decent chance CRMD is sold before the end of the month. Eliott & Evercore are cashing this out. Who knows if a deal happens before the May 8 German court ruling or in the few weeks thereafter, but I wouldn't risk being on the sidelines.

  • BreitBurn Energy Partners: Don't Count It Out Just Yet [View article]
Use data, not emotion or desired outcome. Germany has spent massively on solar for years. Guess what, solar still only makes up 4.5% of gross power generation (vs 46% for coal).

In terms of breathing... The US is switching from coal to NG, so no problem here. Air is getting cleaner & cleaner. For China, first is the wealth from industrialization, *then* comes the ability to institute polution scrubs on power stations, industrial chimneys, autos... They'll get there, now that they can better afford.

  • Marcellus Shale gas pipeline can cross holdout properties, judge rules [View news story]
rrsoper, I humbly suggest you get a productive hobby of some sort. It's a *complete* waste of time to worry about the climate impact, mass flooding, etc., etc., etc. etc., etc., etc... from a *124 mile* pipeline - when there are literally *2-3 million miles* of fossil fuel pipelines in this country. And our switch from coal and fuel oil to nat gas is a *great* improvement in any case.

If like 99.999% of solar homes, you will be attached to the grid for backup power when you need it... then solar panels on your home solves *nothing* This website explains the issue based on Germany. It's very clear & straightforward.

  • Hennessy Gas Utility fund, up 21% last year, highlights six energy favorites [View news story]
Do you realize that presidents have almost zip to do with the economy or market? Does Clinton get credit for the market surge or blame for the crash? He gets neither, the economy is a worldwide phenomena of billions of transactions per day. It ebbs & flows irrespective of slight American policy changes. And the market is 99% reflective of economic conditions (heck, more than 50% of S&P500 revenues come from outside the US).

  • Acadia Pharmaceuticals Proves It Can't Market Nuplazid Alone [View article]
Another oh sooo subtle short. Hilarious.

They could easily sell out to big pharma for $70-90, but they want to sell on their own to maximize return. This is the Baker Bros 3rd largest investment and they have a board seat, and now they just moved their guy into the interim CEO role to take this to NDA filing and drug sales. Yep, 4 month delay, but otherwise now full steam ahead & entire story intact.

Yes, we all know you're short. You can stop pretending to just been an interested observer. You and Vegrocks are hilarious in how you both think you're sooooo subtle -- about as subtle as an elephant with raging gas.

Sounds like all of the issues are related to manufacturing & processes -- and it all came about recently. Presumably they had a mock run of an FDA site inspection and the private party consultant told them they aren't ready and here's a list of things you have to fix. That data changes things -- they thought they were ready to file, but they aren't.

The Baker Bros (again presumably) were tired of delays and wanted to push Uli aside and move their guy Davis in as CEO to get this thing to submission & drug sales.

OK, so it's a 4 month stumble (again presumably -- time to underpromise and overdeliver by saying "2H"), but we're back on track with a great drug and a great unmet need.

  • Acadia Pharmaceuticals Buyout Will Happen, Just Not Yet [View article]
Seems clear that Uli must've lied to the BOD. There's no way the Baker Bros rep knew about the issues 13 days ago. Once they convened a review of the NDA status and uncovered the real story, Uli is out on his ass. As he should be.

Now maybe he wasn't lying per se, maybe he was viewing things with the optimism of a scientist (which he was) instead of the scrutiny of a CEO (which he wasn't). And with a long-time CEO I could see board members being hesitant to challenge his views.

In any case, Baker Bros brought in Davis, so they had a backup plan already in place. He's promoted to interim CEO, and their third largest holding is back on track, albeit 4 months delayed.
