    One other thought: perhaps Amazon is just looking for ways to use its over-valued stock as acquisition currency. Just look at the AMZN chart and valuation metrics.

    I'm surprised how much investors underestimate the threat to Amazon of digital delivery. Amazon has a large DVD retail business, for example, that is totally at threat from Apple's iTunes and other digital download services. Ditto for some % of its books business.

    Purchasing Netflix would be doubling down in a business about to hit a dead end.
